Yes I know it sounds kind of weird but I live 40 miles from decent places that make their own. By that I mean local joints, not chains.

And yes, I put raw toppings on like a local place would. It isn't nearly as greasy as pepperoni and the extra flavor turns makes a frozen pizza much better.

Yup. All you have to do is add some tasty sauce to it. And then some cheese because the artificial cheese that they put on it has the wrong consistency and there isn't very much of it. Then grab some sliced pepperoni or something and throw that on there. You could also put some more add-ons on the thing like jalapenos or mushrooms. But the crust is kind of thin and chalky so you might want to pick up a a can of those precut pie tops/bottoms at the grocery store to keep it all together. So basically it's OK as a pizza if you actually build a pizza around it. I mean it's OK, but it will make the actual pizza that you build around it kind of shitty.

I know you can do that as 18 minutes at 400 degrees will be safe and being exposed brown up nicely. I just assumed with 85/15 meat you would have tons of grease. when I add ground meats I always cook it first.

I've been around pizza joints for a while (40 years off and on) and I can only count a few that put raw sausage or beef on a pizza. I know of 2 that still do but it's greasy to me.

We cooked ours in a drop ins from a make table with a cooling rack on the bottom so it wasn't swimming. We cooked super course grind seasoned pork, Italian sausage, and beef in a stone pizza oven. We would break it up and drain it as needed until it hit a safe temp and then grind the refrigerated meat again. We made Queens style thin crust pizza.

Some hard to find places cook and drain fresh sausage and add on top more like chunks or crumbles. My local chain has their own plant with USDA on site. They have 25 company stores and 100 franchises under different names but they deliver to each one daily...

Most buy from pizza supply distributors or Sysco. They buy precooked crumbles that are real meat but most use "extended blends" mixed with soy and fillers, I have never used I don't eat ground meats on a fresh pizza. Pizza King is the exception. Frozen you have no choice unless you do like you do.
