If Smith keeps playing halfway close to that level, I don't see why they aren't. Even without Berry, that equals a team with essentially no holes and solid depth.

I'd say the Patriots and Chiefs are relatively even at full strength. The guys that went down throughout the course of the game definitely hurt them. But then it also hurt to lose Nelson, as Belichick routinely exploited Gaines.

My guess is if NE gets healthy and hosts KC in the playoffs, they'd be a slight favorite, while KC would be the favorite if they hosted.

Don't give me Oakland until they find a way to beat Reid or even be really competitive. Their D doesn't stack up and they have a huge coaching disadvantage. Even if Lynch is old Lynch, I don't think they measure up to the other elites in the AFC. They were fortunate to win as many as they did last year.

I think this version of the Chiefs is probably slightly more balanced than the Steelers, but we'll find out.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

As I recall, the fast start in 2014 had a lot to do with schedule and turnovers. In this case, it is encouraging that the Chiefs beat the Pats despite considerable sloppiness. But waaayyy too early to call the Chiefs even a SB contender yet.

This is how I see it, we are contenders. I don't think Pitt is better than us. We really should have easily won that playoff game. Now that Alex's nuts have dropped, we probably will beat them. The factor that will ultimately matter is who is healthiest once the playoffs roll around. Injuries can derail any of these teams.
