On what basis? Spygate arose as a result of a rules "clarification" that was circulated in 2006 -- AFTER the Patriots won their first three Super Bowls.

Deflategate was bullshit, as it was easily explained via simple science -- and the fact that it was total bullshit is proven by Brady's STELLAR performance since he was "caught" (why would he need to deflate balls at all -- he's won two SB MVPs and an NFL MVP SINCE then!).

But putting that aside, he won the SB against the Seahawks with "clean" footballs, and won another against the Falcons.

So, five.

When looking at Belichiks success I think you also have to factor in how dismal the rest of the AFC east has been for so long. The last time an AFC east team had a starting caliber QB was 10 years ago when the Jets had a rapidly declining 40 something year old Favre. It basically gives New England an extra 7 weeks of preseason preparation to screw around with different schemes, personnel packages, and get people healthy. They get 6 weeks vs the AFC east, then a bye week, when other teams like Pitt are in true bloodbath division battles nearly every week.

Been argued many times.

1. Patriots win just as much outside their division as in it.

2. Are you seriously going to tell me that Favre/Rodgers had it harder with Lions/Vikings/Bears? Colts during the Manning years with Texans/Jaguars/Titans?

I love the Chiefs and hate the Pats but the "cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater" argument is super stale.

Good points. One big factor is that by winning consistently, teams help keep division opponents in various states of turmoil. Coaches get fired, GMs get fired, rebuild/reboots. One thing I’ve loved about Chargers and Raiders has been their propensity to be in perpetual “start over” mode. The Broncos seem capable of going down this path as well now.

They shouldn't have cheated then. No one is bashing Pederson and the Eagles.

This is true. Brady and Bill were probably good enough to win without all the cheating, but they couldn't help themselves.

And the NFCE is typically a better test than the JV league that the AFCE trots out there every single year.

Cheated AND Brady lied to his fans and the country on national TV. Still doesn't stop their dick lickers like Asterix from white knighting and blatantly lying for them on random opponent boards however.

I won't dispute they aren't good but it's over blown because they do play in shit division and never don't win it. Manning was the same. If the Pats played in the AFC North their succes would be much different. A lot less and not a div title every year.

The Ravens have given the Patriots problems over the years, but the Pats have OWNED the Steelers. Browns? Yeah, no. Bengals-- some years yes, others not so much. Would it be more competitive year to year? Sure. So what? Pats can't change the division they are in. That's life.

Meanwhile, hey, why focus on the AFCN? Oh right, because that has been pretty much the best division in football top to bottom (though Browns, meh) over the last dozen years. Why not the NFC North? West? AFC South? Yeah, forget about them, that doesn't support the "Pats only win so much because they are in that lousy division" argument.
