Look, one and done players can fill you with elation or rage. Most of the time there is little in between. Cal just beat WSU with one and doners. Cal also lost IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE NIT. Against Robert Morris. In Rupp Arena. Not 400 days ago with one and doners. One and doners are a gamble, and the stakes are higher. But I think you ask most coaches in the country that are worth their salt, and they'll all say, talent wins. Give me the most talented guys I can get and we'll roll. Experience is a very valuable commodity. Experience can win a ****load of games if there is enough talent for it to work with. But it takes time. Look at KU for example. After graduating their starting 5 and having 58% of their roster be n00bs, think about where they end up the season without one and doners. KU would have been bottom half without Wiggins and Embiid. And Embiid wasn't recruited as a one and done. Hell he didn't start the first 10 games or something like that. Mid-Majors are fine. One and doners are beatable. But so are good solid teams with experience. Mid Majors keep putting together good teams, and they will have theirs in the tournament. If the NBA changes the rules to like the NFL and make the one and doners stay for 3 years, then you should probably worry. |
