Yes. When Holmes did not have an exciting case he would inject a 7% solution of cocaine. There was even a movie titled 7% solution. Holmes was a bit of a broody character.

Actually, Holmes was quite the pugilist. Maybe you just read the wrong half. A friend of mine has a paperback collection of the short stories. The cover is a drawing of Holmes boxing with his shirt off. As strange as it might sound, that but of the trailer is quite true.

Rewatched this last night (having seen it in the theater when it was released) and felt a compulsion to announce to the world ...

RDJ and Jude Law may very well be the best male acting tandem in the history of modern cinema. They each wield extraordinary charisma as individuals. But together, their chemistry and timing are spectacular. These guys understand the camera ... they know how it works and how to work with it. The result is a combination of subtlety and power that is extremely rare and impressive. You could make a thousand movies and never achieve two performances of that caliber. Maybe 5 thousand.

That's all I have to say ...
