I like sean mannion in the 3rd if you consider that the mid rounds, he has a great deep ball, nice size, great touch, plays in a pro style offense etc.. and nick marshall in the late rounds/udfa. Marshall is magical in the pocket, he's just as elusive as russell wilson, he's improved tremendously this year as a passer. He also throws a nice deep ball, and would be a legit read option qb in the nfl... he needs a lot of work, but he can make all the throws smith is asked to make.

3/4 area:
Garrett Grayson, Colorado State; 6'2", 220 lb. - Rough game against Utah in their bowl matchup, but he's had a superb season and career. Owns nearly every single CSU passing record. Good touch and has plenty of zip. Has a funky release, but it hasn't affected his play. Will need time to mature in terms of playing the whole field but has nice pocket presence and feel for the game. 4/5 Area: Brandon Bridge, South Alabama; 6'5", 235 lb. - The Canadian is a huge, athletic guy with an absolute rocket launcher for an arm. Started his college career at Alcorn State, transferred to SAU and started for them this past season. If you are looking for tools to develop, this guy has them in spades. Raw like sushi, but seems to be a hard working, smart guy. Sean Mannion, Oregon State; 6'5", 220 lb. - Another QB who has broken nearly ever school passing record on the books. Mannion is not the most mobile of QB's, but has very good pocket feel and a good arm. Textbook release and has operated in a pro style set and has excelled. I think he's no worse a prospect than Nick Foles and potentially better. He's possibly my favorite QB in this draft for the Chiefs. Three time team captain. |

I looked into this thread thinking I'd find Cooper Rush from Central Michigan after I watched the Bahamas Bowl.
Kid was really good. Threw a nice ball. Fit it into some pretty dang small windows. He was really patient waiting for a receiver to open up I was really impressed with his movement in the pocket and his ability to feel pressure. He also moved really nicely outside of the pocket. I'm sure he's got a long way to go to get to NFL speed from Central Michigan. So I looked up his stats on ESPN and the dude is a sophomore. IMO, he's one to watch. |

Brandon Bridge
Alex is going to be around for a couple more years and this is a guy with all the talent you could ask for but needs tutoring. If it clicks with him he could end up being what everyone though Kaepernick should be, and if it doesn't ohwell... |

Fully possible. Want to see how the offseason progresses and where scouts end up valuing him overall, but I like his tape that is for sure. He's a solid QB and one I fully advocate KC drafting. Sometimes you have to take a shot on something rare and with KC's luck in drafting a QB the time is long overdue.

Depending on how interviews and stuff went, I'd probably spend 18 or 19, whatever we are on him.
Things I would worry about with him Ability to read a defense Mechanics on the short, quick throws (Andy Reid isn't going anywhere) How many Concussions he's had (I don't know how many he's had) I'd take him at 18 knowing full well he's going to sit at least a year. I think there is a lot he can learn from Smith, but there needs to be a QB coach in his ear every play saying, "Downfield was there. This was the time to take a shot." Then in year 2, you can open it up and if Smith beats him, fine, a good opportunity for more coaching. But the Chiefs aren't doing that. |
