Jets close to getting 13th pick from Tampa

Watching on ESPN, so no link. Revis has to pass physical first.

You can find one in round 2. It's not out of the realm of possibilty. I agree. I'm not a bucs fan so I can't answer that. But Revis allows creative blitzes and schemes.

Maybe a team that can't defend the pass should invest in players that can rush the passer, since cornerbacks can't actually play pass defense now. Just a thought.
I don't understand why they didn't just wait it out.

Giving up that much in picks on top of paying 16/yr is just silly.

Ya I would have waited it out. Only the Bucs wanted him that we know of. Not many teams have the cap for him. Kind of like the Albert situation.

I haven't read the whole thread, and saying that we should keep an eye on this deal because the Jets may very well be vying for Geno . If KC is wants to trade down then Jets are good candidates for trade partners with two 1st round picks.

Last I checked, TB was WAYYYY under the cap.

Was the Revis trade a move they had to do to get over the cap floor?

Maybe they had to spend it, or pay the financial penalty of not doing so that is the equivalent of the amount needed to reach the cap floor....and that amount is split up to all players iirc.

If the Jets want Geno just ask for 9 and next year's #1.

9 = 1350 points
13 = 1150 points

1= 3000 points

Giving the Jets a 500 point discount would be fair compensation.

I think it's more of defending the Receivers in that division and conference

This is a fantastic trade for the Jets.

They get 2 picks in the top 13 now and some cash to use in FA next year.

One of the strengths in this draft is CB. They can easily get a good player for a cheaper price and younger talent.

Meh, if I were the Jets GM I'd want the Bucs 1 next year.

Tavon Austin and Jarvis Jones would be a nice way to spend those draft dollars.

If we could swing a trade with NY and get those two with the picks, I'd be happy.

Sign Albert long term and if he wants traded, use the pick on Ogletree....I think he will drop out of the first and with a run of qbs in the second round, he could drop to the Dolphins second rounder.

NY gets Geno
Miami gets Albert

Chiefs get Austin, Jones and Ogletree.

I would be done being salty about the Alex Smith trade.
