Help a Veteran Out?
Hi All -
This is the first thread I've started like this so I hope I'm going about it the right way. My little brother (A US Army Veteran) has been given a great opportunity to run in the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon to support the families of fallen heroes. I thought this would be a good day to ask for any and all support. In his words: I am lucky to have been given the opportunity to join the 2015 Seal Legacy Foundation's Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon Team. As a former soldier myself I am humbled at the opportunity to represent America's most dedicated warrior's. While I was in Afghanistan one of my greatest fears was causing my family pain if I was unable to return. The Seal Legacy Foundation cannot replace a father, money cannot bring back a hero. I am just proud to be able to represent this group, as they take care of the families of these extraordinary men. These families really do deserve our support. I thank all my friends for joining me in telling these families how grateful we are, and letting them know they are not alone. $3,500 seems like a ridiculous amount of money to pay to escape from prison. For an extra thousand will they shoot at you too?!

As a veteran I'm curious why it takes $3500 to run a race.

Hi All!
Thanks for the donations! James Pluid finished in about 4.5 hours today. It was a great showing and I couldn't be prouder. I really appreciate those that donated or simply sent well wishes. I think I'll drink several beers now. Josh |

The interesting part was that his bike broke down on mile 12 of 18, causing him to lost about 45 minutes compared to other competitors. Sounds like a tough finish.
