Worst BBQ restaurant you've ever ate at?
Went to a place call A Little BBQ Joint in Independence today. Sign outside said Burnt Ends soon to be world famous, so I go in and get the burnt ends, BBQ beans, and Cole slaw. Sides weren't terrible, but the burnt ends taste like they had beef jerky rub, were fairly tough and the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. I'm not a picky eater and I could barely finish the burnt ends.

So, what's the worst place you've had BBQ?

They used to have the absolute best ribs in town. But the last time I went there they were not even close to the same. It was $30.00 bucks for a rack of ribs and I was disappointed. The place was vacant, and it was lunch time.

It wouldn't surprise me as I haven't been be there is a few years. Back in the early 2000's I was a regular there every Sunday in the summer. They'd have live music on their patio, drink specials, bbq and the place would be packed. Then it went to absolute shit. Not sure what happened to them.

Ive been there a couple times a few years ago when I was working in the area. Wasnt impressed, but didnt feel like it was the worst Ive had. They may have gotten worse sense I was there.

It might have been just a rumor they were closing. Looks like their listing is current with Yelp- but with pretty bad reviews.

The whole River Market was hot for awhile, then started to fade again. I like that area, but it looks a little deserted at times. Love the Steamboat museum and all the trails around there. Hopefully, all those new apartment complexes on the west side will prop it up again.

Its not bad, particularly in the BBQ wasteland of NoVA*, but it doesn't compare to joints in other places like Richmond, Tidewater, and NC.

*Unless you count Peruvian charcoal rotisserie chicken as BBQ then NoVA has that going for it particularly with yellow aji sauce.

Traveled through Texas last night and ate at Bodacious BBQ in Gilmer. Beans were horrible and none of the meat had any flavor. Everyone talks about Texas BBQ and I hope this place isn't the norm.

I don't think so, the sign was still up the last time I was there. And I sat on the patio less than a year ago. But it's possible, seeing as how there is never anyone there unless they are having beers outside.
