Peterson asks to be traded
https://mobile.twitter.com/adamschef...40781270999046
[Schefter] Cardinals’ All Pro CB Patrick Peterson has asked Arizona to deal him by the Oct. 30 trade deadline, per league sources. Peterson feels as if the situation is deteriorating and continues to reaffirm to others that he “desperately” wants out, per source. |

Saints don't have the ammo, and Eagles don't have the cap space.

Jerry Jones made the Raiders “an offer they can’t refuse”.

So the more I look into this deal the more I like it.
1. It’s not a 1 year rental. Peterson is under contract through the 2020 season. 2. He’s 28, so it’s not like we are trading for an older vet. 3. Yeah it’s a win now move but provides stability. Fuller is only under contract for 2019. So this moves lessens the need to freak out over the CB position 4. I think this defense needs some veteran leadership. I like leaders at every level, of everyone was healthy we would have that with Berry, Houston, and Jones. Peterson helps fill the Berry leadership void in the backfield. 5. The move prepares us to get out of the Berry contract. There is no way I would feel good about the back end of this defense if I was Veach if all I had to work with was Fuller who is in the last year of his deal. Sooo..... As much as I don’t want to give up a #1 - I’d probably be willing to do it because I think it’s the right move now AND the right move for the future. |

What if I told you we could guarantee drafting a player like Peterson in the first round next year, and for the hell of it, we can even start playing him this season. You wouldn't take that? |

Even Dan Patrick says the Chiefs should be all over picking up Peterson. That he could be a real difference maker for us. |

Think it'll be the saints. They're going to do everything possible to get Brees another ring before he retires

Just because the Saints and Eagles have been in touch doesn't mean the Chiefs haven't been. I had faith when Chris Jones had the pick 6 and you inadvertently high-fived me in the face, and now it's time for you to suspend disbelief.
And the problem with our picks to trade are that they're all going to be assumed to be late, late first round. Of course the second that we picked up in the Rams deal might be the only one valued less than our own second. This is going to matter when the Cardinals size up the value of what we're offering versus others. But it's also why this idea that we can't trade a first is ludicrous as its aiming to be a low value pick relatively speaking. Is anyone looking back at whom the Bills got with the picks we traded to them for Mahomes? Nope. Winning washes everything else away and acquiring Peterson elevates us to the next level. |
