2009 = 2013

The 2008 season = 2-14, ushered in the ***** regime.

The 2012 season = 2-14, ushered in the Reid regime.

3rd overall pick in 2009, with a great QB prospect on board (Sanchez), no QB on the roster.

1st overall pick in 2013, with a great QB prospect on board (Smith), no QB on the roster.

Chiefs trade a high 2nd in 2009 for somebody else's backup (Matt Cassel).

Chiefs trade a high 2nd in 2013 for somebody else's backup (Alex Smith).

Matt Cassel's career stats as of today: 58% completion, 6.6 yards/pass, 173 yards/game, 82 TD to 57 INT, 160 sacks, and 24 40+ yard plays.

Alex Smith's career stats as of today: 59% completion, 6.6 yards/pass, 178 yards/game, 81 TD to 63 INT, 196 sacks, and 33 40+ yard plays.

Chiefs use the 3rd overall in 2009 on a non-impact trench player (Tyson Jackson).

Chiefs use the 1st overall in 2013 on a non-impact trench player (Eric Fisher).

In 2009, the QB all us Chiefs fans wanted (Mark Sanchez) was taken by the Jets instead. (He ended up sucking.)

In 2013, the QB all us Chiefs fans wanted (Geno Smith) was taken by the Jets instead. (Time will tell.)

I HATE THIS GODDAMN TEAM.

SERIOUSLY.

**** THIS GODDAMN TEAM.

Oh please. You troll nearly as often as B14ckmon. You're much sneakier about it; it's definitely more refined trolling, obviously enhanced from years of practice and repetition.

Mark Sanchez has literally proven to be more valuable in a single game than Tyson Jackson's entire career.

Your opinion of what trolling is is just as bad as your opinion of Mark Sanchez.

If Geno was picked to KC and he busts, I will cheer this franchise for trying.
If we pick up Alex Smith, I will not give two shits about the chiefs.

I have been a Chiefs fans since 1970. I've seen the highs and lows of this team. I've gone through the Dawson era, the Kenney era, the Blackledge era, Montana era, Grbac and Green eras, and the recent rejects that I refuse to mention. I'm just a Monday morning QB like everyone else here. But I've been doing it a lot longer than most of you. Here's my view: Give Reid and Dorsey a chance. They didn't get their positions by playing Madden and surfing the internet. I trust that they will make the best decisions by what they have learned over the years. So far, the good far out weighs the bad. I'm excited to see what they bring to the table in K.C.

No doubt. That's essential for being a Chiefs fan.

It blows my ****ing mind that some people on here are stupid enough to equate Scott ***** to Andy Reid.

"Well ***** didn't know what he was doing so we can't trust Reid!"

Sick of hearing that bullshit. My God. WTF did ***** do in New England? We all know he didn't draft Tom Brady. We all know he didn't develop him either.

Meanwhile, Andy Reid has drafted a great QB, fooled other teams with other QB picks and made average QB's look better than they ever have throwing the ball.

It's not the same at all.

Let him draft his QB (wherever it may be) and play some games before judging him.

SP seemed to just be in the right place at the right time. I remember getting nervous when not everyone would rave about that hire. Dorsey seems to be widely considered one of the best player evaluators in the league. He's not SP.

Excellent post. I've been a Chiefs fan since 1969, so I remember the days when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl and were respected as an NFL powerhouse as well as I remember the dark ages of Scott *****. I'm very excited about Andy Reid. I want them to draft Geno, but good times are coming for this franchise even if they don't. It's too bad some of the people around here don't see that.

If they bring in Alex Smith and draft an offensive linemen, you think good times are coming?

You'd think somebody that had been a fan for 40 years wouldn't be so gullible.
