Good on 3 of the 4 points.. Holland lost the Royals the game tonight. After the 2nd walk if Yostie was serious about winning tonight someone would have been up. However, Yostie wasn't serious about winning tonight and it showed in the end.

I actually agree with leaving Holland in. You have to show confidence in your closer, no matter who it is.

Looked like after ball 4 to Utley he became a thrower and not a pitcher. My best bet was his confidence in his control was shot.

Sure... I want Royals to know that they have to find their stuff every night, and quickly, or they ride... And don't think we don't get what you're saying, we do, we've just been around the Royals (and Chiefs) long enough to know that these guys need to play scared too. The whole "play loose" thing hasn't worked for many decades within these club houses, so maybe the "fear of God" might be worth a try for a while. And as much as the players don't need to feel loyal to the fans and city, nor do the fans and city towards the players. They're all hired whores (lord knows they'll more often than not go to the highest bidder!!), so they need to put out or get out!

And, the locker room needs to have their way with his ass tonight too. A hard-played game that amounted to ****ing nothing because of him. It's OK to let him know that, and remind him of it too. He ****ed a 2+ hour game in just a few minutes. **** him!

Read my post again with both eyes open and your brain somehow actively and accurately processing input. I said Holland only needed to get the FINAL 2 outs. I also said Yost should have had the hot hand (Herrera) start the 9th inning, and then, IF HERRERA GOT IN TROUBLE EARLY IN THAT INNING, to bring in Holland.

BTW, Holland did give up a hit and Yost, I'm sure, was ready to then bring in someone else. Unfortunately, by that time, everyone had left the ball field.

I say we wait more than two outings and one blow save to throw Holland to the dogs. Jesus this board is crazy sometimes. Dude has great stuff when he can locate....and yes, not one single pitcher can locate every night, this is just baseball. And Yost was right in leaving him in. You don't put in a guy who isn't warmed up with the bases juiced.

As long as Yost is ok with losing games like this then sure. I am not even really mad about this game, this is just what the Royals do.
