The thing is, I don't think he's that far off. Siemian is a completely adequate, cheaper, younger version of what we usually see from Alex Smith. Unless we see more of that from Smith, I think you can make a really strong argument that Siemian at his cap# is better to have around than Smith at his.

But for ****'s sake, make a better argument than the one he's trying to make here. And give credit where credit is due - Smith played about as well as a QB can play last week. Trevor got lapped by Alex last year, and will again this year... Smith isnt often pretty, but he has it ALL over Siemian IMO

Cap arguments aside, Smith has definitely accomplished more

I'm just not ready to concede anything to Clay when it comes to this shopworn behavior... it was a board killer last year
