I think Yordano previously had that title.
Crazy potential and ceiling. Pure boom or bust type of guy. Had the ability to take over primetime games (Game 6 of the 2014 WS and Game 6 of the 2015 ALCS), but also was at risk to be ejected and or disappear at the most inopportune times. |

Let's do these comparisons Danny Duffy-Alex Smith (Average, can play very well or somewhat poorly) Mike Moustakas-Dee Ford (Considered a bust, now an emerging player) Salvador Perez-Travis Kelce (Considered top 3 at their position, gregarious and fan favs) Alex Gordon-Derrick Johnson (Old, beloved, but also has lots of doubters in the fan base) Alcides Escobar-Albert Wilson (Not well liked by many fans, but always performs in the postseason. Fans baffled at how they keep starting) |

I was just typing up a post comparing Moose to Dee Ford, assuming that Ford breaks out this year or next. Gordo and DJ have a crazy history and are perhaps the strongest comparison. They were first busts and symbolized the failures of their franchises, before their resurgence symbolized their franchises rebirth. I would like to think Duffy has a higher ceiling than Alex - hopefully he has a chance this October to prove that, but if not I could see that comparison too. |

The attendance at this Angels game is embarrassing. Probably 6-8k people there.

100% of MLB players do not tag on that play. The ball was drilled and looked to be a double off the bat. You go halfway as a runner there and wait to see if it drops. The fielder made the play on a dead run and Merrifield was even surprised he caught the ball.

On the next fly out, there's no way he's going from 1st to 2nd on a tag, but he could have easily made it from 2nd to 3rd had he been there. I think you are right though, that ball was tagged and I thought it was a hit immediately but it hung up just enough for the LFer to run under it.

In general don't make outs on the basepaths, but with the Royals? Do 10 shots of fireball and put on slutgear.

We stole one last night. Having Kennedy on the bump give up 2 home runs, 2 walks, 1 double, and 4 singles in 4 2/3rds of an inning and the Royals still win is very impressive.
