The wife and I stayed in the KOA there just last year. We were camping just a 100 yards from the beach. We have talked about moving to Raleigh/Durham area here in a few years. You are about 3 hours from either the beach or from the Great Smokey Mountains. It is a great place.

We brought our two dogs as well and I took the Jack Russell up on the beach at night when there are just thousands of crabs running around on the beach ranging from the size of not much bigger than a quarter up to the size of a big first. He had a hay day killing him some crabs. It is the most fun I think he has ever had.
