I should have known better and trusted the Penbrook eye-test.

The data that gets fed to Baseball Savant is the exact same data that goes directly to MLB Advanced Media. The technology is consistent and implemented in every MLB ballpark. The only subjective part of interpreting the data is what the actual strikezone is (in reality the strikezone is typically not called as a perfect grid) depending on how the game is being called by a specific umpire. The actual location of the pitch is damn-near spot on and you'd be hard-pressed to find very much error. The ball was literally entirely over the plate, on an 0-2 count, there's no arguing staring for Bonifacio staring at that.
