I live 3 hrs from Canada and I bet I don't need 4wd/awd but 5 days a year. Plus, my experience is that 4 spinning wheels slide on ice just as nicely as 2. I can't imagine anyone in KC needing awd very often, if ever. I don't think its a decision maker IMO, but if constantly having 4 wheels spinning makes you warm and fuzzy, go for it. I will say, that Acura is probably going to be a much more reliable vehicle over the long-run. Not sure what the miles are on the Ford, but if everything is relatively comparable but the year, I'd go with the Acura 10/10 times simply based on reliability.

Get a SRT8 charger. 4 doors and perfectly suitable. Don't turn your man card in. You can get them last gen from Carmax with a warranty for 25-30K depending on options,1200 bucks more for the warranty. I have a 3 series BMW with that warranty and it's legit. I have had a lot of things fixed with it. And when they had to do warranty work I have got a 5.0 mustang or a srt charger for a loaner... That's why I say buy the Chargers. Hah

Acura. Be responsible with a reliable family car. Save money and buy an unreliable toy that you won't have to rely on.

We've had an RDX and an MDX. Both great cars.
MDX has 3rd row seating which is important for us on the occasions when we are hauling a ton of kids around. It's also much more luxurious (for lack of a better word) than the Edge.

At that price point you might be able to find a 2010 L Certified Lexus Rx350.
The L Certified will get you a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty and 4 free service visits.

My last car was an Acura and it was a good reliable car. Oh and I forgot to mention that the 2013 Edge has about 45k miles. |

Just FYI and since there are a lot of comments raving about the Acura and a few dogging the Ford: Edmunds customer ratings are even, both of these vehicles get 4.5 stars. IMO, you won't go wrong with either choice. That being said, I would probably go with the Ford simply because it's 3 years newer and 40k less miles.
Edit: 33k less miles
