When free agency is over I'll reset the game planning scheme and you see updated week-by-week player availability, be able to select your base defensive front, and be able to set your lineups with your new players.

Soon, I'm also going to inactivate the parts of the menu that aren't available at a given time.

Ya, that's part of the reason I didn't want to get some huge discussion going about it. Let people do their own research. I actually kind of regretted bringing it up at all.

Anyway, I think there is certainly some potential there, but the guy has caught 26 passes in 2 years. He has really done nothing to show that he has the ability to be a playmaker. He's obviously going to get a ton more targets this year, so I guess we'll see how it plays out.

Cameron will get his shot this year, and I may very well regret the move. But I picked up a guy that is also likely to see increased playing time, has a more productive history and is a better blocker.

Provo signs FS Steve Gregory. The move brought the Knuckledraggers to 53 players, so no corresponding move was necessary.

However, Charles Woodson was storing his walker in the spare locker, so something had to be done.

FS Charles Woodson has been released.

I figured Cruz would go for more as well. I'm not sure he should; teams doubled him down the stretch last year and he had zero answers. But in the end, he's a flashy player and a big name - I was certain he'd go for a ton.
Well to be fair, I'm going after my top FA candidates, if you outbid me - that's less dollars in your account, but I have to settle for #2. I really wanted Sherman but not at 450... My team needs a lot of help - but Im happy with who I'm going after. I also have lots left in reserve cash wise so I dont have to sacrifice my choices if i get bid up.

Like I said earlier - I'm done getting irritable about it, I understand it and it makes sense. I don't think you guys are @#$%ing anybody on purpose - you have a team to build and this is how you're going to have to do it.

It's just been an interesting exercise. I think it was Rage that made the 'game theory' post (though it's not really game theory), but he's right - there has been so much bouncing from player to player and so much backfilling in case you get bid out that the prices are really moving up faster than I expected and a few teams are really driving the hell out of them.

I've just viewed this FA season as an agents wet dream.

I don't have a Ph.D in decision science or anything, but it seemed like a relevant comparison.

I'm not going to spend the time, but you could graph out an extensive-form game showing a series of "bid - no bid" decisions that should ultimately show the highest utility for each owner if everyone picks one player to bid on instead of bidding up everyone at the same position (assuming my original observation that there were more players available than bidders).

Gave up a pick but patched up the biggest hole in my defense while I await the ascension of Damario Davis in NY.

The Donkeys have picked up Stephen Tulloch on a 2-year contract from Pittsburgh in exchange for a 4th round pick. While I'd have preferred get him for a 3rd year, in times of crisis you have to take what you can get.

And trying to run a 4-3 defense with nobody in the middle is most certainly a time of crisis.

Great pickup. Gives me some buyer's remorse about the Gregory signing. Oh well. Move on.

I don't love him, but he's worth more than he went for.

I guess I'll have to make due with Earl Thomas.
