Well, whatever...hopefully it was a wake up call. According to his mom he looked her right in her eyes and promised her he was going to clean up his act and be the best WR in the league. She said he sounded more focused and determined than she'd ever seen him and she's convinced.

Obviously this all doesn't mean shit but I think he's worth the risk.

Any GM that takes this guy before the 4th is putting his job on the line.

The NFL is under a massive amount of scrutiny in terms of domestic violence. This guy has been arrested several times and has repeatedly shown immaturity.

Last year, Seantral Henderson showed first round talent but character concerns saw him drop to the 7th. DGB may not drop that far but I seriously doubt any team will take him in the first.

I will say, I do not want this kid, he needs to be far away from his home town. I wish the best for him, but I would rather take a different WR.

I hope the Chiefs draft him and he rapes faces.

However, I don't believe that less than a year ago he had his first "wake up call." I believe he's had several of what should have been "wake up calls," and pissed them all away. We'll see.

If he gets his head on straight he's going to the Hall of Fame. The Chiefs have almost always reached for choir boys rather than extracted value from players with character concerns.

Hell, the only recent time we drafted a guy who slid due to known character concerns we got Houston in the 3rd. You can't fill your team with guys who have fallen for those reasons, but if you aren't picking at the top of the draft it's one of the best ways to occasionally extract surplus value. Just don't do it at the QB position.

Of course, the Chiefs have done the worst imaginable: reached for a shitty player with character concerns--Spit Hood.

He threw a girl down stairs over a dispute (who his father tried to cover up.) And was caught with a shit load of weed with his homies in Springfield. He got off the hook because his friends took the blame.

He tried to push his way past his girlfriend's roommate at the door of their house so he could talk to her and she tripped and fell. He apologised, helped her up and offered to take her to urgent care...this is all according to her. Again, yes he's made some bad decisions but calling what he did domestic violence is a reach.

He was caught in a car with a decent amount weed after his sophomore year. Someone else took the fall.
He had the domestic incident that is well chronicled.

If you're an advocate for him, you'd probably point out that he didn't strike the girl and the "push" was more of a "get out of the way" shove than an attempt at defenestration.
