How do you feel about Panda Express?

Had it today for lunch.

Orange Chicken with some of that fried rice stuff and egg roll stuff.

Delish!

What are some of your faves?

Hmm, I'll have to check it out next time I'm down there, most places around here just don't bring the heat, even after trying to convince them I want Thai hot and not white guy hot. Ate at some small plate restaurant near there last time I was in LA, great food and a pretty solid beer list... and I didn't pay for it, which was nice.

Probably. The weird thing is that my dad is the opposite. The older he gets, the hotter he likes his food, like all his tastebuds are dead or something.

I've developed a hiccup thing in recent years... and for stuff that's not even that hot relative to my tolerance. Sometimes I'll start hiccuping seconds after the first bite, but then I just start eating faster out of spite... asshole diaphragm.

I don't get the devotion that Springfieldians have to their weird Chinese food. Several relatives who have lived there talk about the local Chinese food with awe, but I tried it a couple of times and it seemed like it was Chinese food in gravy or something.

Yes Springfield is very well known for their cashew chicken. Not sure why there are so many Chinese there. Strange.

I'd say they hit the market research nail on the head.

Glad I'm not the only one.

One of my friends always asks if I'm OK when we eat Mexican. It probably looks like I'm having a heart attack.

I'm that way with horseradish type food. I would get an order of BBQ pork at the Chinese place and if I wasn't slinging snot after the first bite, the mustard wasn't hot enough.

I've even reacted to spicy dill pickles, much to my embarrassment. It sucks as it limits a lot of what I used to eat. I still don't know why it changed. I can handle horseradish hot just fine but not capsaicin hot.
I can't imagine life without spicy food.

There are several really great Thai places in Hollywood that I can recommend.

If you're over in Beverly Hills, there's a place called Natalie Thai that's at Robertson and Olympic that's also outstanding.

I'd definitely suggest medium until you taste it.

Thai is one of the best cuisines in St. Louis. There's a family that has a whole range of restaurants on The Loop, from grab'n'go to formal French Thai. Then there's South Grand with great Thai and Vietnamese, as well as a great traditional Chinese place.

On The Loop you get another 100 cuisines to choose from, from bar food to Ethiopian to Armenian to Farm to Table to the best NY pizza west of the Hudson.

South Grand has the ethnic markets to buy and make your own.
