So when I was doing the NFL Mock Draft Database, I accepted every trade that was offered to me.

The funny thing with the mock is, teams will keep trading their 2024 picks to you so much that they run out of reasonable picks to offer, so they start offering 1st and 2nd rounders in 2024 to trade for your 6th or 7th round pick. At one point, Jacksonville offered me next year's 1st and 3rd for the 257th pick in the draft.

I selected like 6 players, but look at my 2024 draft haul:

I think I can package a few of those picks and move up to get a guy.

NFL Mock Sim:

1st - OT Harrison
2nd - DE Carter
3rd - S Brown
4th - WR Perry
4th - WR Iosivas
5th - WR Mingo
6th - DE Incoom
6th - OL Daniels
6th - DL Diaby
7th - HB Luepke
7th - CB Thomas V
7th - CB Ford

I'd be good with this draft. Harrison to start opposite of OBJ, Andre Carter is our fast bendy DE opposite Karlaftis who we might want to rotate with F Clark for a year or two, Perry to replace Watson's height, Iosivas to replace Mecole's speed, and Mingo to replace JuJu's size. Daniels is the new Wylie, Diaby the new Saunders, and Incoom is a nice depth piece similar to Danna. I love Luepke for Andy, he replaces Burton and acts as our #2 back. Thomas and Ford both have measurables for Spags to train up, but we might be able to get these two as UDFAs.

This is one of the best mocks I've done. I'd be ecstatic if the board fell this way to us.

What do we need? Feels like we have plenty enough cap space and picks to fill ALL of our holes this year:

RT - Wylie's replacement
RE - Frank Clark's replacement & maybe a designated Pass Rusher
DL - Nandi & Saunders replacements
WR - Hardman's & maybe JuJu's replacement
RB - Mckinnon & maybe CEH's replacement
S - Thornhill's replacement
QB - Backup QB
OL - Maybe Alligretti's depth replacement
TE - Maybe Kelce's depth compliment

Am I missing anything?

I don't see any way it works this way because I don't see Jones falling to us and I can't see us taking 3 edge players, only one of whom really fits inside. It's a non-starter of a draft, but these are all guys I like:

1: Broderick Jones, OT - Georgia
63: Derick Hall, DE - Auburn
95: Isaiah Land, Edge - Florida A&M (this was my worst pick; not sure he fits here but I loved the ability as a rotational edge rusher in NASCAR fronts)
122: Ronnie Hickman, S - Ohio State
134: Zach Harrison, DE, Ohio State (just couldn't pass on him this late. As a late 4th rounder, he's the kind of gamble worth taking to see if he develops into a 3-down guy).

Didn't get any WR help but also didn't like the way the board fell for me.

I tried a different simulator and got a completely different outcome:

31: Josh Downs, WR - NC (really starting to like him a lot as an X)

63: Luke Musgrave, TE - Oregon State (My favorite 'move TE' prospect in the class)

95: Xavier Hutchinson, WR - Iowa State (can develop into the larger possession WR role we seem to be interested in having around)

122: Zach Harrison, DE - Ohio State

134: Jaren Hall, QB - BYU (This is probably early for a QB2 but his skill-set dovetails so nicely with Mahomes that he could be an ideal QB2 here in that he can step in without the offense needing to change too much)

I think, given the cap problems we're now suddenly having because of the Super Bowl win, I'm changing my tune. The Chiefs are going to have to keep all 12 of their picks.

I also think, given revelations that they tried to trade for Jameson Williams and AJ Brown, that they're committed to going WR first in this draft.

Here's the draft I end up with:
31. WR Tyler Scott, Cincinnati -- the Chiefs need a true Z

63. DE Andre Carter II, Army -- going to need a year of Cullen/Clark tutelage

95. OT Blake Freeland, BYU -- a right tackle the team needs, will compete with Niang

122. OG/C Luke Wypler, Ohio State -- OL depth, insurance in case Trey Smith comes in too high next offseason

134. RB Eric Gray, Oklahoma -- a great complement for Pacheco, badly needed depth at RB

168. QB Jaren Hall, BYU -- Andy Reid's favorite program

197. DE Habakkuk Baldonado, Pittsburgh -- was the best DE of the East-West Shrine game

217. DT Keondre Coburn, Texas -- stood out at the Senior Bowl

219. S Brandon Hill, Pittsburgh
227. LB Shaka Heyward, Duke
251. CB Myles Brooks, Louisiana Tech
257. DT Brodric Martin, Western Kentucky
The roster, in my mind's eye:

QB: Mahomes, Buechele, Hall
RB: Pacheco, McKinnon, Gray, Ealy
FB: some dude

WR: Toney, Scott, Valdez-Scantling, Moore, Hardman, Watson
TE: Kelce, Gray, Fortson, Bell

LT: Brown, Niang
LG: Thuney, Wypler
C: Humprey, Wypler
RG: Smith, Kinnard
RT: Niang vs. Freeland

DE: Clark, Carter, Baldonado
DT: Jones, Wharton
DT: Williams, Coburn, Martin
DE: Karlaftis, Danna

WLB: Gay, Heyward
MLB: Bolton, Chenal
SLB: Chenal, Cochrane

CB: Sneed, McDuffie, Watson, Williams, Johnson, Brooks
S: Reid, Cook, Bush, Hill

I can dig it. First 3 picks would be great fits, I'm not as familiar with the rest but I like the positional fits.

The more tape i see of Blake Freeland the less I like him against speed rushers to the inside. I think he will be a big project or backup at best.

Man, the PFF draft was tough this morning.

Once again assuming (a.) the Chiefs need to keep all of their draft picks, and (b.) the Chiefs will go WR in the first:
1. WR Kayshon Boutte, LSU -- best WR on the board other than Tyler Scott

2. OT Darnell Wright, Tennessee -- slam dunk 10 year tackle

3. DT Gervon Dexter Sr., Florida -- I remain high on Dexter for now

4. RB Sean Tucker, Syracuse
