Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I caught Faster last night. For what it was, it was solid, albeit predictable.
You thought Faster was good? I thought it looked like a bag of shit. If it is worth it, I'll check it out.

I'd say that the chemistry between Damon and Blunt carried that movie, the realness imo.

I finally got hold of the DVD for "Let me In", I can understand why Stephen King said it was the best horror film in the last 20 years.

I thought it was way better than the Swedish version, and not just because of the sub-titles, it was much more spooky. Sort of reminded me of "Zodiac" by Fincher, in the way that it was so eerie. I would rate it right up there with all the of top films of the past year.

This weekend I saw 3 movies that I'm sure have been discussed on this thread before now, so I apologize. But if anyone else is like us, and doesn't get to the movie theater more than twice a year, here is what I got at the Redbox.

Inception - regrettably, I was way late too the game on this one. Awesome, definitely one to own and watch several times.

The Town - believe the hype (I didn't until I saw it)

The Other Guys - no Will Ferrell movie has even sniffed the jock of Old School or Anchorman in the past few years, but I turned my brain off and laughed more at this movie than any movie in a long time.

I didn't care for 'The Other Guys', it had some funny moments, was suprised at the high Rotten Tomatoes rating

I totally agree, I thought "The Town" was one of the best movies of the year.

I also couldn't believe the negative comments about "The Other Guys", it's actually my favorite Will Ferrell movie.

"Inception" was very good, but not great in my opinion. It's like Christopher Nolan's two Batman movies. He piles it on way more than the story needs. "Dark Knight" would of been great if only The Joker was the main adversary. "Inception" kind of got bogged down the same way but since it was so unique like his film "Momento", it was still a winner.

I wouldn't call it "good". I enjoy those kinds of genre films, and I love The Rock above all else.

It's very minimalistic, which I enjoy.

Catfish was freaky. I thought the reeruns and hillbilly dad were gonna start shit.

The filmmakers were complete friggin morons who gambled with their lives. I would have gotten the **** out of there.

just watched The Other Guys, what a great film. The Other Guys I dont think I need to go over the plot it is the second major buddy cop comedy being released this year (Cop Out) and it is by far the superior of the two. Adam McKay teams up with Will Ferrell yet again this time bringing us what we expect from these guys a very funny very quotable movie. The big surprise for me was Mark Wahlberg, he unleashes his funny side in this one and delivers huge laughs. With its cheezy lines and over the top action sequences this movie spoofs the buddy cop genre with perfection. If your a fan of Will Ferrell you will definitely want to check this out and if your not I dont think this one will change you mind about him.

If anyone watches Fringe and has seen previews for The Adjusment Bureau...

Don't they just seem like Observers? They wear the same thing and it looks like they can do the same shit.

It spoofs the genre for about the first 15 minutes. Then it turns in to a pile of shit.
