There's been some recent confusion with the old spoiler thread, so I'm kicking off a new one for tonight's premiere. This is going to be the one for folks who've read all the books. So anything anybody might want to talk about is in bounds. Suffice to say, if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to stay out of here until you do...

There's so much stuff in Storm that happens basically at the same time as stuff in Feast and even in Dance that it makes sense we'd start to see big deviations at this point.

I have absolutely no idea. All I've been told is that the upcoming season takes a major departure from the books. No info on storyline or anything else.

Well the Paperback version came out this week, and it contains the full Barristan I chapter from Winds of Winter. It's a short chapter, taking place just before the Battle of Mereen. The last line is basically "Sound the attack!"

Can't wait for book 6 to come out! Two big battles coming right off the bat, maybe three if GRRM decides to show us Aegon taking Storm's End. I'm hoping we'll see the book out by Summer of 2015. That would be 4 years. I think HBO will need it out by then, if not before, in order to continue making the show follow the books.

Another thousand voices were exclaiming now. Another thousand men were looking, pointing, donning their helms, reaching for their swords and axes. Ser Barristan heard the rattle of chains. That was the portcullis coming up. Next would come the groan of the gate’s huge iron hinges. It was time. “The Red Lamb handed him his winged helm. Barristan Selmy slipped it down over his head, fastened it to his gorget, pulled up his shield, slipped his arm inside the straps. The air tasted strangely sweet.
