With the 2017 being a wrap after today even if they make the playoffs and beat a weak ass team round 1 only to get piss pounded by NE or Pitt so what? Where do you go from here?

First thing I do if in Veach:

I actually re-sign Logan who's played ok but gets double teamed alot.

I sign Donkey Kong Suh to play end and bring some attitude and toughness.

Don't resign Allen Bailey and trade Alex Smith for a third. Don't bring back DJ, Hali, Akeen Hunt or Ford.

Release Phillip Gaines and Terrance Mitchell.

Sign: Maurice Claiborne, Teddy Bridgwater to be the #2, Rex Burkhead as a legit #2/ 3rd down back draft Chris Jones in round 3, and sign Tim Jerigan.

Not suggesting they should, but I won't be surprised if KC keeps Ford for his $8M option in 2018. Cutting Smith, Hali, and DJ alone gets them to $32M in cap space. The FA class leaves much to be desired, so I doubt they use all that much money this offseason anyways. Getting to $40M+ by cutting Ford may not do a whole lot for them with that being the case.

What if Hali and DJ say they've had enough and retire? Do we have any dead money tied up in them?
Dee Ford and Gaines can look for a groupon on the next Greyhound bus out of town. I like Eligwe a lot, with Ragland and KPL as the starters. Kpass needs to bulk up, but he has promise at OLB. Ware will be back, so with Hunt and West, we should be OK at RB. I still think Conley can be a legit #2 WR. The real need I see is at CB. Sign a FA or 2 and draft us another.

a mediocre shaun smithish cb (the shithead atl just cut would be too perfect) with berry coming back and nelson in the slot makes this a more than formidable secondary. I believe the linebackers will be eligwe and and ragland in the middle. we resign logan, and look for a journeyman dl. then focus on olb. no pass rush and not bumping receivers at the line is killing us.
