Well, I'm moving from California to Kansas City

Thanks for keeping this CA native who randomly chose Chiefs as his team (on January 16, 1994) connected to the city he never knew.

Hope to see you guys around town and at tailgates.

KC is a great place to live. Congrats, Tiny.

Indeed. Got transferred from KC to San Diego (my very last assignment before retiring) from 2010 to 2012. I couldn't WAIT to get back here. Say what you want about the Midwest - but I'll take it any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

  • Olathe vs. Raytown? Nobody wins, nuke from orbit, only way to be sure
  • Shawnee vs. Independence? Win Shawnee slightly less meth
  • Roeland Park vs. Parkville/Riverside? Win Roeland Park for less police brutality

The science is in - KS wins in a dramatic comeback victory.

And I think we can all agree that as always, St. Louis is an abscessed boil on the devil's taint.

The only people that would consider Kansas City a cultured environment..are those that have never lived in one. Maybe during the Jazz era heyday..KC had something going on. It's a small, mid-western conservative town...is what it is.

The people are nice...and its cheap..after that, I dont have much to add. Power and Light was a nice try...very few of the professional athletes choose to live there.

KC works just fine for us simple fly-over folks.

We heard you got buildings taller than grain silos in those big, fancy cities. Sounds a might bit scary to me. I don't like to look at nothin' much taller than an oak tree myself!

Excellent. If I had to go back, I would and be cool with it. But I was done with it when I split.

You're gonna live like a King in KC.

I think that's the case if you moved to one of the many suburbs that people bring up. There's no way in hell I could deal with living in a sea of mostly identical tan boxes while you look forward to going to a chain restaurant or suburban knock off of places like The Peanut.

I do agree with the cookie cutter homes, but in Blue Springs we have a couple of pretty great bars, with at least one being a destination for live music from all over the metro. I can see why a younger person would want to live nearer the KC nightlife, but as a 30 something not having to fight the crowds or drive downtown are a plus, not a negative. I think this is another part of what is great about KC. Within an hour of the center of KC you have all types of options to choose from. It runs the gambit from urban center to rural country landscapes. There are areas where young people can do what they do, areas that are more for older people, and everything in between.

That twitter is hilarious. There was another one posted of Park Slope daycare names (presumed real) that mysteriously got deleted from all of twitter.
