Players you like that the Chiefs won't draft

this is really just a way of asking which players you like in the draft, beyond the obvious one's the Chiefs might be looking at...

I mostly watch sec and big 12, so there are a ton of players I know nothing about, particularly in later rounds...

but, to the premise...players the Chiefs are unlikely to draft due to round or need....so

I love ogletree from UGA (ILB)...he was just coming into his own at the end of the year, and will have a longer more productive career than Jones (and clowns te'o)

he isn't a need like QB,CB,S and is being mocked mid-first (but if he slipped, I'd take him)

D'Andre Hopkins WR. Clemson. He may make it to the top of round 2 so they may actually get this guy. WR is, IMO, the 2nd most needed position on team, even if Bowe is resigned.

Uh, starting cornerback opposite Flowers? Starting Safety opposite Berry? Starting ILB next to Johnson? Backup QB?

Wide receiver is about 8th on the list.

Never said the ones you mentioned weren't needed. All are, but the receivers on this team are awful. Baldwin is a heck of a lot worse at his position than Lewis is. Baldwin just disappears. Bowe has his moments and getting somebody else to take the double teams off of him will open things up for whoever is calling signals. Last in passing this year. Most of that is the QB play, no question, but the crappy receivers we have need to share some blame there. Now, if Bowe leaves, that compounds the issue immensely. Try not to worry about a backup QB until one is found that can produce as a starter. There is no guarantee that any QB acquired, whether it be in the draft, FA or a trade will be productive. Hope so but......

I don't think re-signing Bowe and Albert is enough. We need to draft Geno a toy. EVERYTHING over the course of the next couple years needs to be predicated on building around Geno and helping him succeed.

While I really like Baldwin/Breaston/Bowe and think Dexter can play a role for us, I think we would be foolish to gamble with our current crop of receivers if we have a chance at grabbing another premier weapon in the second or third.

While I agree with you in principle, I've changed my thinking in terms of how we acquire said "weapon". I think we should put on a full court press to get Percy Harvin myself.

I read that Pittsburgh is NOT going to tag Mike Wallace and let him test the market.

Either would be great pickups, IMO.

Gonna take draft picks to acquire Harvin, only cash for Wallace.

Why does Geno "need a toy"?

He will come into this team with a bunch of other receivers that he needs to establish a chemistry with. Baldwin could end up being his fav receiver for all we know. Don't waste picks on "toys" unless you already know Geno needs one.

We need a CB and safety first.

He's big enough. He fluctuates between 210 and 220. If he hadn't missed most all the season with a sprained MCL he would of probably had a great senior year. I've heard he's projected in the 3 or 4th rnd. I've a feeling he's one of those guys that are destined to end up playing for the Patriots. I think Pelini has a pipeline set up with Bellichek.
