Has to be this.... No way the Big 12 should ever get a spot in the playoffs without a conference championship game anyway...

That's not the case for any of the other Power 5 conferences.

If you can go undefeated in a power conference and not make the playoffs, that puts you closer to the MAC than the SEC. And this little clown show of theirs - the one that cost a whole bunch of schools hundreds of thousands of dollars each for absolutely nothing - is going to do nothing to engender goodwill for the rudderless ship that is the Big 12.

It's just astonishingly poorly run.
If Baylor or WVU played in the Big Ten or SEC (or any Big 12 champ of the last 3 years) they would lose at least 4 times. Football has really deteriorated recently in the Big 12, very sad.

And it will continue with the lack of competition and respect when it comes to the playoffs...

That's way better than moving to the SEC and getting your ass kicked.

Yea. Probably true. But, I don't really attach myself to "conferences" like many of our "stand on the shoulders of giants" MUtts that inhabit the area.

"You're team/confence didn't make the playoffs, cuz not real power conference".

Me: "yea".
