Dorsey was fired because Reid wanted all the power. That's also why the Chiefs hire a Reid guy to replace Dorsey. Veach will do whatever Reid tells him to do. My opinion.

If Mahomes is great they will credit Veach and Reid, if he sucks then they will blame Dorsey. It is what it is.

That's stupid.

Andy Reid is the one who wanted Alex Smith in Kansas City, not Dorsey.

Goddamn John. It's a press conference. FFS wear a suit and tie, not casual clothes for a Sunday afternoon.

This was a big part of why he was fired. He wasn't organized, wasn't professional and he was way too laid back.

I hope Dorsey turns the Browns around and they start dominating the AFC North.

Me too. Dorsey seems like a great guy and Browns fans deserve some success for the s**tshow they've been watching for years.

The owner says that Dorsey's #1 job is to find a QB... if I'm in his shoes and I hear that, I'm not only drafting a future QB but I'm getting that stable bridge in the meantime just in case... hello Alex

So it wasn't about GB?

Wow.

Does that mean Clark's nuts have dropped?...

I think Kizer can be a good QB. He should have sat like Mahomes though. I think you bring in Alex and work with Kizer in the background.

I don't think you're necessarily wrong, but if the owner is coming out and saying in the introductory press conference that your number one job is to find a QB, that is far from an endorsement for who is already there.

Draft Rosen, Jackson, or Darnold. Trade for Smith if you don't want to throw them out there for 2018.

I'd probably become a Browns fan, that's how pissed off I would be.

However, there is a better chance of hell freezing over this afternoon.

I don’t disagree, but I think it was Hunt who soured on Dorsey first. The huge contract extensions to Houston and Berry now look excessive given those players’ availability. The Fisher extension, the LDT deal and the Maclin signing also cost a lot of cap, and for what? Regular season respectability but still, no playoff success.

I think Reid was put off by the Maclin release and how it reportedly went down, and saw his in to make a power grab.

I think both men are learning their lessons. Dorsey maybe gained an appreciation for the coach/player relationship and has to re-evaluate some of the contracts he doled out in KC. I thought he was exceptional at building depth, but maybe was more tentative in how he dealt with acquiring/maintaining elite talent.

Reid’s loyalty is costing him this season. Gone are Tommy Brasher and David Culley. He replaced them with his son, and Greg Lewis respectively - loyalty hires. Safe hires. Ones that will not question his process, and ones that are not of the highest quality. Inadequacies with Heck and Sutton continue to show, but yet they are not held accountable.
Veach is an Andy yes man, and I fear the shortcomings of both Dorsey and Reid have combined to leave Veach with a mess he won’t be able to clean up anytime soon: no draft capital, marginal cap space and facing a lacklustre free agent class. A defense in need of a major overhaul. A talented malcontent nearing the end of his rookie deal. Underperforming “stars”. Bad personnel fits for the scheme employed.

I hope Mahomes is related to Jesus, because the Chiefs will need a miracle to be relevant moving forward...
