Most Epic Music

Epic in the "O Fortuna" sense.

I'd heard snippets of this song before, not knowing its full name or the group that performed it. Holy Shit. If I was a boxer, I'd dim the lights of the entire building, and this would be my walk music.

What are your picks?

Epic as Triumphant or Epic as in Prepared for Adversity, or maybe some other definition.

Mars remains the gold standard for Epic battle prep, it's the God of War as envisioned by one of mankind's all time great emotion evoking composers.

Epic as triumphant, my pick is, was, and shall remain . . . Great Gate of Kiev.

Epic as a diadem of the sex act, gotta go with 1812 Overture.

Heck, Epic as just joyful triumphalism, what's wrong with a little SW:ANH - Throne Room and End Title?

And I'm not linking shitty streams of these, go get a decent turntable and set of speakers.

Black Blade was used in one of my Chiefs videos.

Probably 7/10 Two Steps tracks are awesome shit. Really like their Skyworld album. This is great:

This first hit when they used it for the 09 Trek teaser trailer. Really great track.

This was a really nice accompaniment to my 2011 Hali video.

I've always liked the opening to Clash of the Titans, 80s version. If I could get this to play every time my dick flopped out of my pants I'd be grateful.

Can't go wrong with Basil Poledouris.

There are only a handful of tracks I'd be that precious about. Count your blessings I didn't dictate the performer, label and pressing, . . . though I can't recommend tracking down Jan Guillou performing Mussorgsky on Organ on the Dorian label highly enough.

http://www.amazon.com/Mussorgsky-Pic.../dp/B000001Q80

Aural heaven.

Seriously, listen to this

Which is Jan performing The Promenade [a movement in PaaE preceding Great Gate] on an Organ that fills a cathedral and has pipes up to 32' in length that go down to the 8-10Hz range [the annotation to this youtube even notes it].

It deserves at least an uncompressed, properly mastered CD and a full range set of speakers.

Most decent pressings of the 1812 Overture have live cannon fire fer chrissakes.

So you're saying that the Pioneer 6x9's and Rockford Fosgate 12s in the back of my Cavalier can't pound this shit?

I figured the Cavalier gave it away.

One of the few things I miss about high school are the sounds of someone's trunk rattling due to a horribly installed system and distortion from said system.
