Any chance he actually ends up making the team? West looked to be pretty lacking last week, though the OL obviously wasn't helping much.

“CJ Spiller has been an unbelievable surprise,” Bieniemy said. “He has been healthy. If you haven’t noticed, he is pretty fast. He is pretty fast, pretty explosive. He does a great job in the run game. He has been doing a great job picking up the offense and I cannot complain.”

Bieniemy said that he can’t speak to Spiller’s past, which is that of a back who hasn’t rushed for over 300 yards since 2013. He can only speak to what he’s seen with Spiller in training camp.

“He comes to work every single day and does a great job of asking questions in the classroom,” Bieniemy said. “He does a great job of taking notes and then he comes out here and he works his tail off as if he was a rookie. He is one of those guys who comes early and stays late.”

If he can resurrect whatever he had...it would quite the boon. He obviously had talent at one time.

It's unlikely...but it sounds like he is doing better than expected.

West looked great in 2015...it's looking more and more like that was an outlier.

This team's inability to run the ball, especially in short yardage situations, has as much to do with the blocking, or lack thereof, up front as with the talent at RB.

Spiller might be an upgrade over West, but until this line can create some holes consistently, who carries the rock doesn't make much difference, unless it's a generational talent.
