What I saw in practice is what we saw Friday and what we hear about everyday in camp and what Stanzi himself has even admitted. Inconsistent. Good play, bad play.

What's funny is if a WR has to make a one handed catch on a Cassel pass you guys are all over him for throwing a bad pass. Wylie makes a sensational 1 handed grab on a pass from Stanzi and he is Tom Brady. He is inconsistent with his accuracy. He underthows then overthrows then drops one in. Rinse and repeat. We saw a classic case of it Friday. I want the kid to do good but I can't pretend what we see isn't really what we saw.

That inconsistency is a valid concern for a second year Ayer that didn't have an offseason his first year due to lockout?

Or that Wylie seems to be doing his best to sell out for Stanzi?

Can't wait for after work Monday night to watch game two.

Dude all I am saying is when you look at the history of QB's drafted in the 5th round or later there are really 2 starting in the NFL right now, Brady and Cassel. Unless Painter is starting somewhere.

There are plenty of guys on message boards and blogs with much more credibility than Fescoe and his crew.

Romo was undrafted
Fitzpatrick was a 7th iirc
Matt Moore/David Garrard werent high picks

Lots of examples of good quarterbacks that took time to develop.

It's silly to knock Stanzi for inconsistency when the alternatives are Cassel and Quinn.

Two of the most inconsistent quarterbacks there are.

I agree. No worries here. Stanzi means absolutely nothing to me as a fan of this franchise. So.debating his over/under throws isn't my cup of tea. Was just sharing what was said.

What you say here regarding Stanzi is the truth and was his M.0 in college. You had two types of Hawkeye fans with him at QB. One was the kind that hated him, and couldn't wait until the Stanzi era was over. The other side loved him, and thought he was the next Tom Brady. There was no in between on him in Iowa City. If I could compare anyone to Stanzi, I would say he is a Jake Plummer clone minus the overall athletic ability. Someone that can WOW you one play, and contemplate hiring a hitman to kill him on the next. That's the kind of player Ricky Stanzi is and always will be IMHO...and I have watched a ton of Stanzi both live and on TV.
