Worst 'professional' Paragraph i've seen from a sports guy....

As a voice over guy, nothing makes me cringe more than horribly written copy. Adam Teicher dropped this beauty on ESPN..

"Against the Eagles, it felt like the Chiefs were always living on the edge because they’re offense couldn’t handle what Philadelphia was bringing, which was relentless pressure. The Chiefs were rendered helpless for much of the game by the Eagles’ heat. Smith was sacked four times."

That's not a typo. That's a misunderstanding of English. It's equivalent to writing "they are offense couldn’t handle what Philadelphia was bringing." That doesn't make sense.

This sort of error is increasing in frequency. Contractions were taught in 3rd grade. Why do people have such a hard time grasping such an easy concept?

with auto correct, auto-spellcheckers, and also 'speak to type' platforms that many use..it certainly could be a typo....i highly doubt the guy added the apostrophe himself..but what do I know...

He is an idiot. The Eagles were getting pressure because their D coordinator was calling a great game the first half. Andy was predictable and they were ready for it.

Alex had no options downfield. He held the ball way too long hoping something would open up. The O-line did not play well most of the game. I think we helped their D line look good by our poor play.

With all that being said we still won by 2 TD's minus the late junk TD we gifted them with our shitty prevent defense.

You probably about as much as I know because neither of us were there when he typed it. I'm inclined to not take his side though.

I've noticed a lot of basic spelling and grammar mistakes on ESPN.com lately. I guess that's what you get when you lay off virtually every decent writer and copyeditor.
