My drafts are over the next two weeks. So I've been practicing by participating in mock drafts online.

Just finished one up just now:

QB
Tony Romo
Matt Ryan

WR
Julio Jones
Greg Jennings
Pierre Garcon
Nate Washington
Titus Young

RB
LeSean McCoy
Ahmad Bradshaw
Mark Ingram
Kevin Smith
LeGarrette Blount

TE
Jared Cook

K
Lawrence Tynes

DEF
Kansas City Chiefs

It's almost certain that no team I draft in a money league will be as good as this team, but meh. Might as well mention it.

A couple players from this draft will surely end up on my squads this year:

1. McCoy is at the top of my board.

2. The TE corps is really thin this year, so TEs are getting overdrafted. But Jared Cook is about the only TE worth a damn that's really dropping to his value.

3. Kevin Smith is getting WAY under drafted. He's the only RB the Lions halfway trust anymore. This will probably change as the season wears on and Best and Leshoure return from injury. But Smith is killer value late in the draft.

4. Unless I'm unsatisfied with my depth, I'm probably going to end up drafting Tebow in the very last round this year. You watch.

You should draft an all white team.

Peyton Hillis, Danny Woodhead, Toby Gerhart etc..

Drafted in my big money league.

QB
Matt Ryan
Andrew Luck

WR
Greg Jennings
A.J. Green
Dez Bryant
Nate Washington
Kendall Wright

RB
LeSean McCoy
Matt Forte
Mark Ingram
David Wilson
Rashad Jennings

TE

K

Def
Houston Texans

I think I have an absolutely lethal starting lineup, and my bench is loaded with high-upside players.

My main concern, obviously, is depth. I feel like I took good gambles across the board on my bench, but I need at least most of my gambles to pay off.

I can't tell you how much I love this starting lineup I've drafted.

I think Ryan is underrated this year, throwing to the best WR corps in the league with Tony G at TE.

I think both my RBs are quality 1st in McCoy and Forte. Guaranteed touches with both of them.

I think my starting WRs, all three of them, are classic WR1s. Jennings, Green, Bryant...

I love the bottom of my roster too. Texans are the best fantasy defense in the league. Jared Cook is a high upside TE, super athletic Jimmy Graham type. And the Saints kicker is a kicker.

So long as everybody stays healthy, I'm golden. If a few folks blow up on my bench, I should be solid. And I drafted Andrew Luck, who should be my keeper for 2013.

The season is starting off with one of the most brutal matchups I'll have all year.

I think only two teams in this league can hang with me, and sure enough I'm starting off against one of them:

Ryan @ KC < Vick @ CLE

Jennings vs. SF = A. Johnson vs. MIA
Green @ BAL = Maclin @ CLE
Bryant @ NYG = Blackmon @ MIN

McCoy @ CLE > McFadden vs. SD
Forte vs. IND > Peterson vs. JAX

Cook vs. NE < Gronkowski @ TEN

Henery @ CLE > Bryant @ KC

Houston D vs. MIA > Green Bay D vs. SF

Barring an explosion by Vick, I like my chances more often then not in this matchup.

I obviously realized my mistake of drafting John Kasay in the 15th round -- Kasay isn't even the starting kicker in New Orleans anymore. So I dropped Kasay and I'll just hop around on kickers until I find one midway through the season.

Vick hasn't looked too good this preseason, so I think Matty Ice might be able to outplay him if he exposes Jalil Brown and a lack of Tamba Hali.

Our WR corps are both very, very strong. I have the better players but they are playing the tougher defenses.

My runners are stronger, by far. I'd take both my runners over either of his.

Gronkowski, of course, is the wild card. But I think Houston is going to make Tannehill's first start miserable.

This should be a good victory over a strong opponent. We'll see.

I love this:

I know it's just Yahoo projections, but whatever. My worst WR is better than his best. My worst RB is better than his best.

My defense is projected better, and my kicker will soon be projected better when I trade out Kasay for Hartley (waiver expires tomorrow).

The only advantage he has is Vick and Gronkowski. Formidable fantasy villains, but I can't help but believe I have the upper hand here.

Would be nice to know how many teams in your league and any non-standard rules whenever I look at your fantasy team lineup.

Don't mean to piss in your Cheerios, but I think we have heard that refrain before and it didn't turn out as advertised.

This, however, I have never heard. Excellent fantasy analysis. And one which people in my league don't seem to understand since someone always drafts a kicker in round 7.

Graham was showcasing his incredible abilities last preseason. Cook hasn't really been doing that. Again, I think it's the Titans' desire to see Cook be a better all-purpose TE instead of just a good athletic target in the passing game.

Either way, he's been going way late in drafts. If your league has more than 5 bench slots, it's well worth it to draft a 2nd TE like Cook, even if you have Graham/Gronk.

Cook had a couple of monster games at the end of the season. A better running game and better WR play should help him. I'm high on him as well.
