Alex Smith is the best QB in the division!!!

A lot of people have been criticizing Alex this season, and some of it has been fair, I won't lie, but a lot of that criticism hasn't been fair. People act like we can just trade Alex and immediately replace him with a better option. Take a look around the division and check out the other quarterbacks.

Manning/Rivers - Both are washed up and completely done
Carr/Osweiler - Might be good in a few years but they're horrible right now

None of them can matchup with Alex. The reality is that Alex is quite a bit better than what most teams are throwing out at the QB position. Listen, I know we all want Tom Brady or Cam Newton as QB, but since we can't have those two, Alex is the absolute best option for this team to win the division and ultimately the big game.

Listen, man, it's really ****ing simple.

We've got a top 10 defense and a top 10 running game. Even with 2 horrendous defensive performances we're allowing 19 PPG and no team has scored more rushing TDs than we have.

Meanwhile, only three teams have thrown fewer passing TDs than we have. Teams that have more? The Jacksonville Jaguars (they've got twice as many as us), Buccaneers and Titans with rookie QBs, also the Eagles, Texans, Jets, Steelers, Bills, and Cowboys who are all playing musical chairs at QB. The Cowboys started Branden Weeden and Matt Cassel at QB for 8 games for God's sake!

The passing game is limiting our offense. That's a fact.

It's not unique, or special, it's just that you think your opinion of Smith is.

I don't understand why half you guys even follow the Chiefs, other than to wait and bitch, even when we win. That isn't about the Chiefs, its' about the fan.
Blind homerism and then jumping off cliffs when things go wrong isn't a much better mentality. You can be a fan of this team and be critical of them at the same time.

Except the Ravens have a bottom third rushing attack and a bottom half defense.

Anything else you want to reach for?

I've addressed your post at length in this thread. You keep calling this a team effort yet blame the defense when they play anything short of great. That's not a team effort. That's one team carrying the shortcomings of others. In a thread focusing on Alex Smith being the best QB in a division, kind of relevant...

oh, NOW other facets of the game matter. you guys are so dishonest.

Climb out of a 1-5 hole to five hundred, and you think I'm the one reaching...because the Chiefs aren't winning with enough..style.

Man, I'm trying to be nice here.. But you're really not getting it and I feel like I'm being as basic as possible..

The reason we're able to point fingers at the passing offense, and Alex in particular, is because the other aspects of this team are performing as well as or better than most any other in the league.

WE HAVE A TOP 10 DEFENSE.

WE HAVE A TOP 10 RUSHING OFFENSE.

WE HAVE A BOTTOM THIRD PASSING OFFENSE.

Hmmmmmm. Can you connect the dots?

Well, yeah. I mean, we're playing bottom feeder teams, back up QBs, and 40 year olds with multiple injuries.

Meanwhile, the defense is only allowing 9 PPG and averaging almost 3 turnovers a game over the span of this win streak while we've received career games from Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware.

Oh there it is, when the chiefs win, they played shitty teams. Fact is we DESTROYED shitty teams.

Donks are 8-2 with a shit running game...on noes!!! being carried by the defense, how will the fans ever live with their record.

well then by that logic, our defense really just sucks...defense is playing bottom feeders! oh wait! they are only allowing 9 PPG they're awesome!...

The chiefs went 9-0 and lost to indy in the playoffs two years ago. They went on a winning tear last year then completely collapsed at the end of the season.

So shouldn't have to apologize for being cautiously optimistic. Especially since that winning streak wasn't against a challenging schedule. For most of us, it's the follow through and winning big games that matter. We've been fans of this team long enough to not get so hung up on regular season winning streaks.
