Game of Thrones (spoiler-free zone)

A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

Congrats bow and arrow. Between The Avengers, Brave, Snow White & the Huntsman, and #GameofThrones you've had quite a year.

I noticed the run time on tonight's episode is 1:10.

I'll probably start reading Storm of Swords again tomorrow. I think it's my favorite.

This season isn't as gripping as season 1, no doubt. They are working with what the story gives them and the story has hills and valleys. Wouldn't bother me to see them combine a couple of books into one season to raise the action level.

With GRRM not having the series completed it seems like they've painted themselves into a corner unless he just writes an ending for the tv series when it is needed.

They already have. Most of the stuff with Jamie Lannister was book 3.

Storm in particular is so dense I would imagine it will require multiple seasons.

Well, that got me a little "misty" at least 3 or 4 times. Lots different than the books, but headed in the same direction. All in all, a great finale. Gonna miss this show for a while.

Well hopefully next season will return to Season 1 level because after watching the finale this season was a dud.

Season 3 will hopefully be like Book 3, but many folks are expecting greatness since, for many, book 3 is the best of the bunch.

I think part of the problem may be that those who have read know what's to come. So certain scenes and events carry more weight.

I loved the finale. Maybe if I didn't know more, I wouldn't have. Sucks to see people losing interest though.
