Why not?
Trade for Bradford and you're clear of his signing bonus. You'd get him for $7 million this year. Now the guaranteed 2017 roster bonus is something of a tricky one; I'm fairly certain the acquiring team would be left with that. But if you like him enough to trade for him and he performs, you'd be getting him for 2/$24 million - that's below average for a credible starting QB. It's a better contract for the acquiring team than it would be for the Eagles. It would be a positively good contract if that guaranteed roster bonus could somehow become the Eagles problem, essentially turning it into a 1 yr, $7 million deal with a $17 million team option for 2017.

If a team like the Broncos is willing to trade and pay Kaepernick $7 million (which is now considered "Elite Backup" money), some team, whether it's the Bills or Broncos or even the 49ers (Hello, Chip?!) will make that trade. |

Mularkey is the main reason why I believe that Jon Robinson, the Titans GM, will **** this up. Mariota needed an Adam Gase type of guy, not another failed HC. Also, take a look at the Patriots drafts since Pioli left. Hot garbage. |

This seems like a stupid move. The Eagles don't know which QB will be available. It seems reckless unless they are not after a QB after all.

Their owner, Jeffrey Lurie, was behind this trade, so Roseman and Pederson won't be held accountable if the QB is a bust. |

Plus, they could use the draft pick, as they won't pick until the 5th round. |

I guess that would explain the look on Pedersons face when the Eagles were making the announcement.

Seems keeping them and trying try trade bradford after would be what they're thinking. Any way you spin it, that was a dumb decision |

They will be paying Bradford $22M anyway no matter what.

You're assuming they can get a decent return for Bradford. That may not be the case. |
