This dude's methodology is bullshit....it's as if he's some engineer or business or marketing dude who doesn't know jack shit about the NFL. Idiot...

Most insecure, yes. Worst fans, no way.

I also don't see the Dolphins as the 7th best road equity.

How this was calculated: The ranking consists of three factors: Fan Equity, Social Equity and Road Equity.

Fan Equity measures fans’ willingness to support a given team, while adjusting for factors such as market size and win-loss record. The Cowboys, Patriots and — surprisingly — the 49ers rank high here, with fans willing to pay a premium for tickets and merchandise to support these teams.

Social Equity measures fans’ willingness to stand up for a team online, following and liking them across multiple social networks. The Patriots, Cowboys and Broncos head the pack here. Social Equity is often a more reliable barometer of national awareness than Fan Equity, since anyone anywhere can follow a team online without having to purchase tickets.

Road Equity documents how well a team draws fans on the road. In the NBA, you can always count on a LeBron or Golden State bounce; the correlating teams in the NFL are the Cowboys, Eagles and Raiders, with the Patriots (5) not far behind. Sometimes these teams have fans that travel (Steelers, 6) and sometimes the bandwagons have set up shop around the country (hello, Cowboys fans in Los Angeles). Either way, the result is the same: a strong road presence.

so we ain't homers ?

It seems like this is purely a study of market size and regional purchasing power with no COLA (cost of living adjustment). This is an incredibly flawed methodology considering the population and average house hold income of the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area is 2,340,000 and $46,193, respectively. Compare this to the New York Metropolitan Area at 20.2 million and $59,799. Obviously the cost of living in New York is much higher, which explains the ability to command higher ticket prices. And with a much higher population there will be more people on social media and people to purchase merchandise. The professor needed to create and index which takes this into account per capita and per income. It's hard to see how this study could pass any type of peer review to be published.

That s because you're a non typical chiefs fan....

Most chiefs fans care about noise records, beating a popular team Ina meaningless regular season game and tailgating.

You're defiantly in the minority...

My take away from this is that we are the poorest fans in the NFL with an older fan base that isn't active on social media. It makes sense for kids to root for other teams. Think of the seasons an 18-year-old kid has endured.

Wrong. Remember when the WS tickets cost more in KC than in San Francisco?

Winning changes everything. The reason we have fewer social media fans is because we have a smaller fan base. Most kids in KC that care about sports like the Chiefs. Seattle has a ton of social media likes because of their popularity (which spiked in 2012-2014).

Most KC fans almost certainly are... just not many people here. Most here deride those who are typically optimistic about the team. It's like.. a bad thing.. at CP.. to believe in your team, and stuff.

It's close. I don't think they ever had a player Belcher himself in the teams parking lot.
