Apparently I've been an admin here for 10 years. AMA I suppose.

Just out of curiosity, I looked at my account, and I was made an administrator on April 10th, 2008. Though I kind of stepped back on the mod duties for a few years, it's crazy to me that I've been trying to keep you guys from killing each other for over a decade.

Anyway, feel free to ask questions about the past 10 years as a mod, what it's like working for one of CP's most illustrious members, why Denver is an OK place despite the stench wafting over from the Broncos, or whatever.

Or don't. I could just ban people randomly instead, which might be about as fun.

For some reason I always thought this board was yours (you owned it) or something.... Can you explain the Mod\Admin\ownership hierarchy for those of us that aren't in the know?

1. Have you every been to Durango? If yes, what did you enjoy and what did you not enjoy? Small town with not much entertainment doesn't count. Anyone should know that before they arrive. Try Silverton if you want big city.

2. Did both you and Rainman being CP members and/or Chief fans have anything to do with you meeting?

3. What was you college major that led you to a statistics oriented career?

Thanks!

Why in the blue hell did you ever tell me to check this place out

I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you that after telling me to check this place out you were the first one to haze the n00b version of Buehler445

Who would win an arm wrestling match between you and Rainman. Why? What would your syke out rituals before the match be? How would the loser react?

AustinChief owns the place, but he has a pretty hands-off approach and largely doesn't get involved in the day to day operations unless something major breaks. Bearcat and I are "admins" which means that we have access to all of the backend nuts and bolts to keep the place running. We also have mod powers, though I took a step back from that for a couple years. The rest of the mods are able to manage users and such, but they can't get in and reboot the server, for example.

My wife and I took a week-long loop through Alamosa, Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride, and Gunnison last year. Beautiful town, but I mostly think of it as the place to stay when you're out visiting places like Mesa Verde and the surrounding area. The drive from Durango to Ridgway is one of the most beautiful in the state.

Yep. ChiefsPlanet is the reason I've had the job I have for the past 11 years. I noticed Rain Man talking about his research company, and that's what I was interested in. I bugged him via occasional PMs for a couple years before coming out for an interview, and the rest is history.

I certainly had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up for the first couple years. I started out as a Physics major at UM-Rolla but hated it. Transferred to Emporia as a Music Ed/Math Ed dual major. Eventually decided I wanted to make money, so I changed to a Business major with a marketing emphasis. Eventually got my MBA before joining Rain Man, Inc.
