Ok, then OBama threw entrepreneurs under the bus too.

Perhaps you could clarify. I provided facts that show how the whole "takers" argument is a lie, could you do the same? Here, I provided the full quote for your convince. Which part throws entrepreneurs under the bus?

"That" in this quote refers to roads, bridges, teachers. Bad English, yes. It suffers from pronoun misuse. But the question one has to ask is, what did "that" refer too. I, and most English speakers, will recognize "that" refers to roads and bridges.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn't get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together."

It's a joke to raise MW. Everytime MW goes up, the cost of living goes up, but for most Americans, they don't get a raise when MW goes up. It's simple math. Gas, milk, bread, etc. costs more, but you don't make anymore money (Because, most Americans don't make MW) means you have less money.

It's fascinating to me. Ask someone: "If a business has to pay it's employees more, how will it make up the gap?" A 3rd grader will be able to tell you what they will do. Yet many adults convince themselves of other outcomes.

The Left assumes the business will just gladly eat the higher cost. Out of benevolence, I suppose. Actually i'm not quite sure what their logic is on that one.

The whole premise behind the min wage is spurious to begin with. If I am an employer and I have an open position, I will pay the least amount I can in order to secure the person with the skillset I need. So if I am Applebee's and I am looking for a dishwasher, I can find thousands on the street and pay them whatever. If I want to hire a manager, I have to pay him much more because there are fewer of him. And if I want to hire a district manager, I must pay him even more.

It's called making a market. Or clearing. Employers are in most cases incentivized to pay more than the next company becuase turnover imposes a huge cost as it is. That is why the minimum wage is only paid to a small fraction of the workforce. Don't Libs understand any of this?

Do you guys just skip over this? And all other evidence provided?
I mean, in the spirit of an honest debate, can't you at least find your own studies that back up the lies you are sprouting?

"With Americans still trapped in the fifth year of our Great Recession, and median personal income having been essentially stagnant for forty years, perhaps we should finally admit that decades of economic policies have largely failed.

The last two years of our supposed recovery have seen American growth rates averaging well under 2 percent.[i] Although our media often pays greater attention to the recent gains in stock market and asset prices, such paltry growth means that many of the millions of jobs lost in 2008 and 2009 will never be regained, and the broadest measures of American unemployment and underemployment will remain stuck in the vicinity of 15%.[ii] Meanwhile, an astonishing 93% of the total increase in income during the recovery period has been captured by the top one percent of earners, who now hold almost as much net wealth as the bottom 95 percent of our society.[iii] This polarized situation does not bode well for our future, and unless broader social trends in jobs and incomes soon improve, dark days surely lie ahead"

"Perhaps the most effective means of raising their wages is simply to raise their wages.

Consider the impact of a large increase in the federal minimum wage, perhaps to $10 or more likely $12 per hour."

"A minimum wage in this range is hardly absurd or extreme. In 2012 dollars, the American minimum wage was over $10 in 1968 during our peak of postwar prosperity and full employment.[viii] The average minimum wage in Canadian provinces is currently well over $10 per hour, the national figure for France is more than $12, and Australia has the remarkable combination of a minimum wage of nearly $16.50 together with 5 percent unemployment.[ix]"

It's quite easy to destroy. Just point out that almost nobody even makes the minimum wage to begin with - about 3.1% of all workers fall in that class, and they are disproportionately young and/or uneducated:
http://www.bls.gov/cps/minwage2011.htm

This isn't even an issue that reasonates with people because it doesn't affect people to begin with. And that, my friend, tells you everything about the need to even tinker with it.

I really don't know if this would be a good idea or not - I just thought of it - so any feedback would be fine.
Pretty poor idea with many holes, biggest being companies would hire 17 year olds for 725 over the more expensive guy every time.
