These students do not have to have their events on Mizzou's tiny campus and can print or post whatever they want on this state-funded property.

Some of that stuff is a little fruity, but having taken part in the organizing of a huge event attended by all races, religions, and a fair amount of disabled people there's nothing wrong with at least thinking about some of these things.

Went to a conference one year where it was scheduled over a Jewish holiday by accident. Many attendees had to leave early. I was helping keep track of a big speaking room and we forgot to save space in the front for folks in wheelchairs. Another time we forgot to hide a few chairs back stage and were scrambling to find a spot for a deaf person's volunteer interpreter to sit. In college one of the guys in my house was diagnosed with MS his freshman year and by the end his vision was in really rough shape and relied on things like screen readers to help him read his email.

There's nothing wrong with a university department coming up with something like this to help kids who are new to event planning...especially event planning in a very diverse environment like a college campus...unintentionally excluding someone that wanted to come to your thing.

Hell, Bungie has like 8 different settings so that the game's UI is visible to people who are color blind. There's some overlap, but a lot of what is often derided as being "political correctness" is simply being polite to fellow humans that aren't exactly like you.
