Combine Losers: Would you take them now?

Some guys with real talent struggled at the combine and their stocks have fallen pretty far. Would you take them, consider them or forget about these talented guys?

Damontre Moore OLB Texas A&M

Projected draft stock last month: top 10

The guy was a standout defensive lineman at Texas A&M. A high first-round pick according to some mock drafts. So, what happened at the Combine? Moore was able to bench-press 225 pounds just 12 times, ranking him last among defensive linemen. Not good. What's worse, he appeared to suffer a hamstring injury while running the 40-yard dash. Moore might have yipped his way out of the first round.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports - USA TODAY Sports

How do you feel about him at: 34?

Montee Ball RB Wisconsin

Projected draft stock last month: 3rd round

NFL scouts weren't high on Ball after his junior season. They probably still aren't now. His 4.66 time in the 40 isn't what teams are looking for in a running back. He fared even worse in the short shuttle, which is another critical drill for running back prospects. Where will he go in the draft? Late ... if at all at this point.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports - USA TODAY Sports

How do you feel about him at: 6th round?

Keenan Allen WR Cal

Projected draft stock last month: 10-25 range

The wide receiver out of Cal has been a sexy pick to go in the first round. Well, he participated in exactly zero drills at the Combine. So ... uh, why did he show up? To practice his interview skills? There are speech classes for that.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports - USA TODAY Sports

How do you feel about him at: 34?

Johnthan Banks CB Mississippi State

Projected draft stock last month: 1st round

Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State. After a rough Tuesday, Banks no longer looks like a first-round pick. He posted one of the slower 40 times (4.59) among corners. Banks looks good on film, but he needed to show more speed and other corners like Xavier Rhodes of Florida State may have jumped him

How do you feel about him at: 34?

Terrance Williams WR Baylor

errance Williams was the most productive receiver in the nation last year. But after a poor showing at the combine, he now must face the possibility of significantly sliding backward in this draft.

This a deep class of receivers, and Williams may get lost in the middle of the pack after a poor showing in Indianapolis.

How do you feel about him at: 34?

Chance Warmack G Alabama

Projected draft stock last month: top 15

Chance Warmack, OL, Alabama

Some draft analysts downplayed Warmack’s 5.49 time in the 40, saying pulling guards don’t have to run 40 yards. But the 6-2, 317-pound Warmack looked soft – maybe the reason he skipped the bench press.

How do you feel about him at: 34?

Kevin Minter ILB LSU

Most made a stink about Notre Dame's Manti Te'o running in the 4.8 range, but how about Minter? He ran a similar time and has never been regarded as the best movement skills. Some teams will like Minter the same now as they did a week ago. But the combine proved he's a scheme-specific prospect.

David DeCastro was a generational G that worked out great at the combine and he was taken in the 20's.

A fatass G that was slow and supposedly weak and soft might fall to 34 IMO.

Honestly, I've faded on between the tackles plodders. Doesn't seem to be a good fit with our OL.

I'll pass, and prefer mid-sized or smaller RBs with speed and elusiveness.

I feel like he's getting passed over by a lot of other WR prospects right now. Teams will pass on him in the 1st knowing they can get really good WRs in the midrounds this year. This is a great year for WR depth.

I'd take a good hard look at him at 34.

I'll wait for the pro day. 4.59 is dreadful. I wouldn't take him at 34 anymore. I wouldn't even take him in the first five rounds anymore.

I probably am not shopping for Minter until the 4th, if he's still there.

A little slow for me, especially given that we don't need an OLB for the most part. I'd rather see a situational 5-tech that can get to the passer on 3rd down than another pass-rushing OLB.

By the 6th round a lot of teams are throwing darts anyway. Ball runs hard, but always had an outstanding line to run behind. Absolutely in the 6th round though.

While I think Allen would be better than Baldwin, this is a very deep WR class IMO, and I think our 2nd round pick could be better used elsewhere (CB, DE).

I think the 3rd round you start looking to see if guys like Wheaton or Patton fall.

Absolutely. Big physical CB that isn't afraid to man up. KC doesn't have a guy that can consistently position himself and rack up INTs. This guy loves to go after the ball in the air.

Another pick I would be very happy with at 34, but you also have to realize this is probably 2-down player that comes off the field in 3 WR looks. I don't necessarily know that he makes a ton of sense, but I wouldn't be disappointed if he was picked here.

All you need to know about Warmack happens during game day. His forty time means NOTHING. I saw this guy throw really good defenders around like rag dolls all season. He has a mean streak wider than his chubby back. You can work the chub off of him, but you can't make somebody mean if they aren't already. There is no CHANCE that he's there at 34...pun intended.

Yeah, trading for Smith is worth less than Jeff Allen, Rodney Hudson, Dexter McCluster, Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel combined.

Oh, the horror.

How can the Chiefs possibly win 8 games now?
