The show creator calls anyone who doesn't like Skylar a misogynist, and maybe anyone who thinks she is a nag and shrew is a misogynist, but I don't like her, or Marie, or Wendy, or any of Jesse's women, or his mother, not one. I don't like them because they are uninteresting terrible characters not because I think I have to actually "like" characters. Some of my favorite characters are ones I don't like (Jaime Lannister.)

Skylar has gotten a little more interesting of late, but I rarely believe any of her motivations. I believe the character was meant to be smart enough to challenge Walter, but I don't think she is, and that is bad writing. How they write Walter, Jesse, Hank, Gus, Hector, and all the other really interesting male characters so well and miss so massively on the female characters is kind of a mystery and has kept my from truly enjoying this show. Still can't wait to see how it wraps up though.
She has a lot less screen time, but Hank's wife is pretty useless. I guess she occasionally serves a purpose (gives Hank and Skyler someone to talk to), but she's basically unnecessary. That mini-arc about her stealing stuff was a waste of time.

Walt is a megalomaniacal dickhead, and Skylar is a rube. It's not unreasonable for her to infer danger just as a result of the cultural awareness of the violence inherent to drug trafficking and distribution.

I feel like her reactions are reasonable, in their way.
I couldn't agree more. I think that's the beauty of the show. It's meant for Walt and Skyler to become opposite poles.

I found myself sympathizing with Skyler more after I watched the entire series the second time around.

Just wrapped up the 8 episodes of Season 5 on Netflix.

Loved that they brought Mike back with a somewhat expanded role and certainly didnt expect what happened between him and Walt.

Skylar is a sniveling tramp but the dinner scene was pretty hilarious.

I wish they had more of Jesse but they focused a lot on him back in Season 4 so it's whatever. What did he call their old RV? The "Crystal Ship"? I lol'd at that part.

And you've gotta laugh at Walt. He's off his rocker.

"Say my name."

..... You're Heisenberg.

"You're God damned right."

If she really wanted to make sure her family was safe, she would have turned Walt and herself in.
Period.
You scared? Fine.
I understand.
But dont act like she couldnt have saved everyone from Walt.
She could have gotten full immunity for turning him in.
But no. She wants that money too, but she feels guilty so she has to act like a victim.

Jesse has always been the moral center of the show, which is brilliant execution.

She wouldn't even have to "technically" turn herself into the cops. All she has to do is let Hank know what's going on. Hank would've gotten immunity for her and protected the kids.
