ESPN lays off Ed Werder day before the NFL draft

And that's just the beginning of the bloodbath. Up to 100 ESPNers are expected to be axed, including a lot of on-air folks. So consider this the ESPN Layoffs Megathread to track all the victims.

I had to endure watching that Skip and Shannon show a few weeks back while I was waiting in a doctor's office. holy shit, that show it terrible. I don't know what I'm more amazed with; that Fox would think that show is a good idea, or that people actually watch it.

I long for the day when these 'hot take' debate shows die off. if ever.

much like sports radio; particularly the callers with their schtick.

Maybe they'll sign those people from that Jersey Shore show to be special correspondents.

That didn't take long.

Ray Lewis is going to murder Skip Baylee's on a regular basis. He's got the experience to take him down.

Its ratings are actually pretty terrible. They've paid so much to bring in all these ESPN guys though, I'd imagine they'll stick it out. It's not like Skip can bring anything else to the table except hot takes.

I think a lot of people treat them like pro wrestling -- they don't believe anything about them is authentic, they just watch for the performances.

I didn't watch much, but I'll admit that Skip and Stephen A. were very entertaining. They would just keep trying to top each other with the incredible gravity of what they were saying, no matter how insignificant the subject matter. So self important. It was pretty hilarious.
