I was back and forth, back and forth, agonizing about whether to take Brandon Jenkins or Jordan Poyer with my last pick. Thanks, lostcause, for helping me out.

The mighty Duluth Pillagers have completed our draft.

1 - 7 E. J. Manuel, Bills - It was painful to not fill my immediate need at CB or FS with a top prospect, but Milliner was already gone and it seemed too high for Eric Reid. After debating Star Lotulelei, Barkevious Mingo, and Jarvis Jones, I decided that there's only one way to replace Phillip Rivers, and that's by rolling the dice in the draft. I figured Manuel would be a backup, but he may make a legitimate starting run in training camp. I like this pick better now than when I made it.

2 - 47 Dwayne Gratz, Jaguars - I traded down for this pick since there were three CBs that I liked when my Round 2 pick came up - Xavier Rhodes, Darius Slay, and Gratz. Rhodes was taken with the pick I traded, and then I sweated as the other two stayed on the board. Slay went on Pick 46 and I jumped on Gratz with 47. He should start for me.

3-50 T. J. McDonald, Rams - I had no free safety on the roster, so I sweated while McDonald and Rambo remained available. I pondered whether they might slide a little further because I was interested in Le'Veon Bell and Kawann Short, but couldn't chance it. He will start for me.

3-55 John Jenkins, Saints - I didn't really know what to do with this pick, and liked Jenkins to help up the middle on a pure talent play. I already have Kevin Williams and Kyle Williams, but only had Josh Chapman as a backup. Jenkins will join the rotation on run downs, most likely.

5-103 Denard Robinson, Jaguars - This is a high-risk, high-reward pick. I needed a backup HB and it was either him or Zac Stacy, who would be a safer option. I figured I'd roll the dice with Robinson and hope Frank Gore stays healthy.

6-127 Brice Butler, Raiders - I found this guy, who's the #3 receiver in Oakland right now, and he's got great measurables. I've got strong WRs in Hakeem Nicks, Desean Jackson, and Randall Cobb, so I figured I could take a chance on him and let him compete with Devon Wylie for the #4 WR spot. Hopefully he'll develop well for me (other than the fact that he's a Raider).

7-151 Ricky Wagner, Ravens. I need a backup tackle and had Quessonberry in mind for a long time, and then discovered that he'd been hurt. Wagner is a rookie second-string LT, so I was pleased to discover him this late.

7-167 Jordan Poyer, Eagles. I was debating between him and LB Brandon Jackson, but Jackson got scooped up two picks before me. Poyer was an easy choice because I need CB depth and he's got a high potential upside.

In summary, I added two players in the defensive backfield, and one at every other group except LB. Interestingly, I came in with outside linebacker as my #1 need, but it looks like Dumervil is being moved back there and Bruce Carter is moving back outside, so my problem may have gone away. I ended up adding four offensive players and four defensive players.

With that surplus of OLBs, I feel you would be well served to switch to a 3-4.

This would certainly do nothing to improve my position as a potential trade partner with you or anything, it's just friendly advise I'm offering. Because I want you to beat Clay. Yeah...that's the ticket.

I feel my draft was very good, I had a pretty strong team already so I kind of picked for high risk players.

Alec Ogletree replaces urlacher in the middle
Patterson is a very raw but gifted wide receiver hoping he is the vikings next randy moss.
Tyrann Mathieu is just a playmaker saw that in game one already. Solidifies an already strong secondary.
David Bakhtiari or whatever is a need pick since Newhouse lost his job to him.
Kenny Stills I traded for because Drew Brees gets the ball to any receiver he has.

I was traveling during the first part of the draft and did not prepare properly, so I missed 2 picks of my first 3. I believe I recovered nicely from it.

16 Jonathan Cooper I am O.K. with this pick my first choice would have been Kyle Long. It fills a need and looked really good before he went to I.R. He can sit for a year and come back strong.

20 DeAndre Hopkins I needed a #2 beside Megatron thought about Patterson but right now and maybe always is he limited in his route running. Hopkins looks like a complete WR who can develop into a #1

32 and 68 Traded for Eli Manning Finally after 2 seasons I have a real QB.

40 Sylvester Williams Autopick I hope he works out. I would have chosen Arthur Brown

64 Robert Alford 1INT in week one and more to come. Great replacment for Chris Gamble.

88 Quinton Patton I think he will be the #2 in SF by the end of the year.

112 Marcus Lattimore Another pick from the I.R. but my gut says he return to form and beast for 6 to 7 years.

136 David Quessenberry More hospital kids, he played really well before he went down (its a marathon not a sprint)

160 Devin Taylor He looks good so far and I need depth.

In my first draft of this really shitty team, with little prep work and being at work while the draft was going for the most part, I think I added decent players to my team.

Overland Park Chiefs

1. Dion Jordan DE
25. Justin Pugh RT
44. Zach Ertz TE
49. Johnathan Banks CB
73. Markus Wheaton WR
97. Zaviar Gooden CB
121. Ryan Nassib QB
145. Johnathan Meeks S

22 Matt Elam - I really wanted Kyle Long at this pick. When he was taken the pick before me, I was left scrambling. None of the value players at that pick really met my needs. I had a need at FS and took Elam even though he is a SS. The Ravens know defense. They haven't let him start yet, but James Ihedigbo can't hold him off for long.

46 Darius Slay -- He'll step in as my nickle CB.

70 Bacarri Rambo -- Got my free safety. I'll start the top two out of Chancellor, Rambo, and Elam. I have quality depth at the safety position.

94 Akeem Spence -- He's starting in TB, but will spell my monster DT combo of Atkins and Suh.

118 Mychal Rivera -- he caught a couple of passes in his first game for the Raiders. I like the value at this stage of the draft.

142 Malliciah Goodman -- DE project. He took a few snaps with the Falcons in week 1.

166 Sam Martin -- addresses a need at punter.

This was more of a BPA draft for me. I addressed needs at S, CB depth, and P, but wasn't able to get the right value for my needs at G or LB.

Who already has a sack out of their 5th round pick?

<-----this guy.

I took Michael Buchanan in the 4th round of the CP Mock draft because I friggen love that guy and then I up and reached for him a bit in the Sandbox draft as well. The guy is a monster - looks absolutely legit.

Unfortunately (maybe fortunately), he appears to be pushing Chandler Jones inside on Nickle sets and that may interfere with Jones sack totals. That said, Jones just ran Geno down for a sack of his own.

Nice day so far for my Pats D-Ends.

EDIT: Make that 2 sacks for Chandler Jones. Chandler you magnificent bastard you. Oh sure, I wanted Bobby Wagner instead of you, but you're going to be the best defensive lineman from the 2012 draft and potentially the one of the best DEs in football.

I kept losing track of my draft spot in League 2 and ended up auto-picking with the pick I wanted to use on him.

If he doesn't break his jaw before the 2012 season, I think he'd have gone in the 2nd round. I was actually shocked he fell past the 5th anyway. The Pats stole that guy in the 7th round.

I sure wouldn't have minded the Chiefs grabbing him as OLB depth. He has the length and explosion to play it and even be a credible 5-tech when you want a little pass-rush juice.

I just get errors when I try to sign picks.

Does it have anything to do with my 57-man roster?
