Use the distro you have at work, whatever it is. Having it at home is invaluable.

For others looking to Linux I'm recommending Kubuntu.

I like fedora 6 so far, but did a couple things wrong on the install and will be reinstalling next week.

It keeps getting better, but still not making me happy. I recently changed to KDE and have liked that move a lot. Still some annoyances, but that is expected.

IMO the KDE apps are simply more polished and mature. Add to that Gnome's increasing reliance on Mono and the exposure that gives you to lawsuits from Macroshaft and there's just no good reason to go there.

At this point I will just be happy when they can get the keys on my keyboard working. Within the last few weeks they finally got the volume keys to work with something other then master, but some dolt forgot the mute, LOL!

I do like kooldock, at first I thought that was gonna be stupid, but I'm using it a lot now. That tool needs some work still, but is nice to have.

Trying to fix networking with qemu to run XP for outlook and then I will be one happy camper. I got it working for XP, but then the linux piece was broken. But it was time to leave, so I figured I would get back to that later.

I did learn that uninstalling virtulization is a bad idea, that just hosed my entire install. Since it was a fresh machine, rebuilding is going to be just as easy as fixing it...

Thunderbird doesn't connect to an Exchange Server as far as I know, and since that is what we use at work I'm sort of stuck.

I dont have any experience with it but does cross over office work with the Exchange server?

Maybe that would be a option
