No. Its a bad move that only keeps us in tbe same mediocre spot as always. We need a young guy that's ours. The fact we never develope our own QB is the biggest reason we never win anything. Alex Smith is not a franchise QB. When the hell is this team going to get serious about getting a dangerous QB? Geno needs to be the pick period! All other options are like throwing in the towel.

Cleveland and Jacksonville are both saying they are out on Smith. It's definitely us, unless you judge them likely to trade him within their division.

I think a lot of these platitudes are silly. What if we acquire Smith and draft a second rnd QB to develop, a la Kaepernick? Say Manuel? Just saying "we better...or else" seems myopic to me.
