Tony Romo rumor

Gotta ask what do you guys think? There are strong rumors we are interested. I would love it if we got AJ MCCaron from Bengals.

Tony Romo played on shit teams and led them to the playoffs and 2 playoff wins.

Alex Smith has played on stacked teams and has quarterbacked 1 playoff win.

Huge difference.

Acquire Rivers or Romo and draft a quarterback either this year or next.

We're ready now and preparing for the future.

Adam Teicher posts an article on ESPN.com that the Chiefs should show interest in Romo and now suddenly it is a "rumor".

Congrats to the OP for biting on Teicher's click bait.

If we get a retread, get Romo. I'd rather not, however, and trade up to draft Desean Watson, provided Andy Reid gets an extension as well.

Tony Romo is the only reason that the Cowboys were getting onto the playoffs throughout the majority of his career.

Jerry Jones did a terrible job of team building around him, and it wasn't until his son started having a bigger voice in the process that he improved that roster.

But, yeah, Romo would very likely get injured, and the Chiefs would be stuck trying to win with a backup, just like they've been trying to do for the last 40 years.

If it were me, I'd make a play for Romo, but give up no more than a 3rd, and look to draft a QB in the first 2 rounds.

Hypothetically what would kc get for Smith? That trade might cancel out some of what we have to give up for Romo.

I'm not sure I like the risk. I do believe if healthy he makes us better but that doesn't mean it's worth it. Either way we need to make a real effort to draft a qb.

I think there would be a couple of teams that might be interested in stabilizing the position while they look to draft their QB.

For instance the Browns might want to have that reliable vet presence while they develop DeSean Watson.
I'd take their 4th for Smith.

The Jets might be interested in stabilizing the position while they search for the QB.
I'd take their 3rd for Smith.

And yes, I'd want to draft a QB to develop behind Romo.
