I'm torn because I don't want McGregor to lose again before he fights Aldo, but also I wanted Nate to demolish him. Wish McGregor Aldo 2 was happening first.

Thats how I was scoring. I follow John McCarthy on twitter, he trains judges, and over and over again in responses to questions, he's always emphasized that if one fighter is hurting the other fighter, nothing else matters, not volume, not aggression, not takedowns, if a fighter is landing big shots that is supposed to trump everything.

Still tough one. Does a few big shots over ride a substantial volume deficit?

Ever since I answered that question "yes, it does", I seem to be in line with the judges more often than before. I'm not sure if thats how it ought to be, but I think thats how they are trained. If its not a grappling match and if the fighters are basically tied on effective striking, then they go to aggression and volume to break the tie, but one huge leg-buckling shot in the last seconds can steal a round.

Thank God for the spider. He probably won't win, but that man needs to be given a lot of money for stepping in like this.

Seems like a recipe for boring fights by strongly rewarding counter strikers that dont initially engage.

Aldo landed more head strikes despite throwing about 25% less total. Be the aggressor all you want, if you don't land, aggression means nothing.

All the pressure in the world on DC. No pressure at all on Silva

PPV starting to look bad. DC humping Silva for a round.

Unless Brock shows up which I doubt the UFC laid an egg.

Yeah, this is going as expected. Cormier is ragdolling him, then at the end of the 2nd when Silva starts to land a few shots, DC gets him on the cage and grinds Silva out of the round.
