Too many holes and contrived coincidences in that episode.
Yep. Another thing - if Andrea wasn't a dumbass and didn't take 30 minutes to pick up a pair of pliers with her feet (still not sure how pliers gets you out of handcuffs) she would have been ok. Quit talking to Milton and pick up the pliers with your feet. It's not a bar of soap. It isn't that hard.

Well ok a couple of things.

1st, the ambush in the tombs. It looks like someone either threw smoke or tear gas and then hit the alarm. The sound of firing and the alarm got all the zombies moving to look and thus added to the confusion. The "Good Citizens" weren't prepared for that and ran the hell out as quick as they could.

Once they got out the "good citizens" started to get fired upon by automatic weapons. The Jack booted thugs returned fire but no one stepped up as a leader to calm the situation and get the "good citizens" back into the fight. The GC had a lot of balls when a grenade launcher and a .50 cal are humming along and on their side, but when the shit hit the fan they ran to save themselves.

On the .50 cal. It looked like they tried to cycle the gun to clear the jam but couldn't. So they left the .50 sitting there as people were jumping in the truck and getting the hell out of Dodge.

The Governor had surprise on his side with the military unit he attacked, plus he had a lot more men to make sure the plan worked. How many men did he have on his attack of the prison? Only 2 made it out and left with him after he went psychotic. Merle took out a ton of dudes that more then likely would have turned the tide and got the citizens back into the fight.

Now I do agree that the episode was a bit lacking for a finale to a season. No drama or suspense for season 4 beyond where is the Governor and why is Carl all angry.

Speaking of Carl.....in the books is he a cold blooded killer or how did this episode translate to the comic? Specifically his killing of the dude who wouldn't put his shotgun down.

On the 50 cal - I actually thought while the GC were in the prison, one of Rick's group disabled the 50 cal?

I want my money back. This season's second half was sorely lacking in any suspense at all. Hardly looking forward to October. What the hell?

I had a real problem with the way the henchmen just decided to roll with the Govenor. Whats their motivation to stay with this lunatic??

They would have been better off just shooting this crazy bastard, laying down their arms and making peace with Rick and his crew.

It would be awesome. Sigh.
Every time you died, your corpse would become a zombie. That would be epic.

Fear would be the only thing that I can think of. Fear of him, and fear of living without him to guide them?

Yeah, didn't make much sense. Best I could come up with was fear, which can be a powerful motivator.

I know it's been discussed...but I gotta say again...
Gov comes in blazing like a full blown ARMY and I’m like….wow….good thing they left. Fast forward to Glen and Maggie firing off…what….15 shots and they head for the hills like punks. WFT???? REALLY???? yes I know some of them were wussies and all, but not all of them. it was like 2 vs 15. whatever...

and the 2 dudes staying with the gov was probably the stupidest bit of storyline in the entire series.

as has been said before, Carl is s stone cold killer in the comic....so he shot the kid....so what. when Carl tells you to hand over the gun....BITCH HAND OVER THE DAMN GUN! see ya! not much different than leaving backpack guy Rick.

LOL at Carl telling his dad “now just go” like Ricks his bitch.

the episode as a finale suicked....but IMO possible the best line EVER UTTERED on TWD....

"In this world you kill or die….then you die and kill…."

that....was.....AWESOME!

People trying to give praise to this episode are just like all the Star Wars fanboys that tried to rationalize the piece of shit that is the Phantom Menace when it came out. You are such a huge fan in your mind it just can't be a huge turd. You can put sprinkles on a turd but it still gonna taste like shit if you eat it.

I'm far from a fanboy, but I feel like many of the people complaining about the episodes want a Michael Bey zombie flick week after week, chock full of head splatters, explosions, and a frenetic pace from beginning to end.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. The show takes too long to develop characters, but I respect that it's doing so. The show doesn't need tons of action, but it does to deliver a little more often.

I hate horror movies where the creators apparently thought that if they simply throw enough buckets of blood around, the horror enthusiasts will be pacified. I HATE that. I need a story man. and TWD is trying to give us that.

PS - man I hope the Evil Dead remake isn't just a buncha buckets of blood....I gotta see it either way.....I gotta.

Very underwelming. I can see why the citizens would run like that though after the gas, alarms, zombies, and ambush. They didn't want to fight fellow humans anyway. Gov's henchman must be just as sadastic as him to stay.
