Movies

Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

Battlefield (pretty cool Navy ships and battle scenes)

The Watch (not what I expected, had some funny parts, but don't expect too much)

I watched Savages the other night and loved it. Oliver Stone is still capable of making a kick ass movie.

Watched a show called "Rounders" from 1998. Matt Damon is a law student who grew up playing cards. Edward Norton plays his childhood buddy that is in deep with a loan shark.

It is really good for a 1998 show. Damon and Norton are really good. It is like most other poker movies, but didn't get all caught up in the game as much. It was much more about the Damon-Norton dynamic and Damon's stuggle to find himself.

Definitely catch it if you run across it. I turned it to FX to have something on while I was working. I got pulled in so much, I didn't get any work done and just watched the damn movie.

Pulled "End of Watch" off of the interwebs. It was the shit. Fantastic movie. As good as, or better than "Training Day".

Prometheus was pretty good, certainly not at the level Aliens was on, but it was okay...

Act of Valor was solid, had some cool scenes but it almost seemed like propaganda or a military ad or something.

Everything Must Go - found it uninteresting and I'm not into character studies and the whole situation was stupid, like when has that ever happened?

The Amazing Spiderman - meh, the Tobey McGuire ones (first 2) were better, confused why they remade this and I think it's about time that Emma Stone steps away from the high school girl act.

So Sony could keep the rights away from Marvel studios. That's the only reason.

I am diggin all the Prometheus hate. fans havnt been this disappointed in a hyped up movie since Cowboys vs Aliens. You want to see a fun coincidence? Look up who co-wrote the screenplay for both of those. Damon Lindelof.

World War Z will be his next bomb.
